The kitchen is well-equipped for all your culinary needs, store your sweet treats in the fridge/freezer, whip up a storm on the electric oven and hob, and then have the dishwasher clean up any mess as you gather around the breakfast bar and delve into a delicious meal. The sitting area is an inviting space to unwind, with a large royal blue corner sofa positioned in front of a Smart TV, perfect for movie nights. Adding to the charm of the room is an exposed brick fireplace with a feature wood-burner. As the day draws to a close, climb the stairs and retire to one of the two welcoming bedrooms. The super-king-size room, which can be made into a twin on request, features Velux windows, allowing lots of natural light to flow in. The second bedroom is a double, boasting beams and offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Both rooms share access to a sleek bathroom, boasting a high-sloped ceiling with a skylight that bathes the room in natural light, complete with a bath, shower-over, basin, and WC. Maritime enthusiasts can explore antique locomotives at the National Railway Museum, whilst those seeking some drama can brave the gory stories of The York Dungeon. Be sure to visit the magnificent York Minster, an awe-inspiring cathedral opulently decorated and boasting centuries of history. In the nearby village of Beningbrough lies the stately Beningbrough Hall, curated by the National Trust. Situated 10 miles south of Bridlington and 6 miles north of Hornsea, the vlllage of Skipsea sits in a typically rural setting surrounded by rich, agricultural land, yet also rests within one mile of the beach and is close to the cliffs of the North Sea. The village has its own Post Office and general store, a hairdresser’s and a pub. Many of the houses in the village, both old and new, use cobbles from the sea shore in the building. Just outside the village are the remains of Skipsea Castle. The surrounding countryside is excellent for walking and cycling, whilst the nearby seaside towns of Bridlington and Filey boast long sandy beaches and numerous resort attractions. The Deep Submarium at Hull, Sledmere House and Burton Constable Hall are within 20 miles, whilst the shops, cathedral and museum of historic York, the resort town of Scarborough and the North Yorks Moors Steam Railway at Pickering are within an hour’s drive, and Whitby is just a little further, making Skipsea a superb base for a relaxing holiday.
