About this property

Temple Hill View is a lovely, detached abode situated in the quaint village of Ampleforth, North Yorkshire. Boasting countryside views, a games room, and ample off-road parking, this friendly retreat offers an en-suite, electric fire, and proximity to local shops, making it perfect for families or friends seeking a relaxing getaway. Upon entering the property, you will be greeted by a spacious, contemporary kitchen, fully equipped to cater to all your culinary needs throughout your stay. Adjacent to the kitchen, you will find a handy utility room housing a washing machine, perfect for those longer stays. Continue through to the inviting living/dining room, where you can unwind on the plush seating in front of the TV and electric fire, or gather around the dining table, seating six, for a home-cooked meal and quality time with your loved ones. For further relaxation, retreat to the conservatory with a good book, admiring the serene countryside views, or challenge your companions to a game of table football in the games room. When the day draws to a close, retire to one of the three well-presented bedrooms; a king-size with a private en-suite featuring a walk-in shower, basin, and WC, a snug double, and a twin room, offering flexible sleeping arrangements for all party makeups. Step outside to the enclosed rear garden, where you can enjoy a spot of alfresco dining on the patio, or simply relax on the lawn, soaking up the tranquil surroundings. The garden furniture provides a perfect spot for a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine, as you plan the day's adventures or reflect on the day's events. Venture out of the peace and quiet of Ampleforth to discover the bustling city of York, starting at the National Railway Museum where a piece of intriguing history can be uncovered, before braving the dark corners of The York Dungeon. Sweeten your day with a visit to York's Chocolate Story, providing a delightful detour. The history buffs among you can then take a trip up to Clifford's Tower, where sweeping views await at the top. Why not try a local ale at Ye Olde Starre Inne or challenge any non-believers with a visit to the Golden Fleece York, allegedly the oldest, most haunted pub in York? Coastal adventures await at Scarborough where you can explore the ruins of the Scarborough Castle, enjoy an underwater journey at SEA LIFE Scarborough or take the Cliff Lift down to Scarborough Spa. Don't miss the authentic Scarborough Flyer, a heritage steam tour showcasing some of the best coastal views. Each day brings a new adventure when you stay at Temple Hill View.

The unspoilt village of Ampleforth lies on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, and is made up of a scattering of traditional houses, two pubs, a tea room and the local village shop. There are several highly-rated restaurants within the surrounding area, while the market town of Helmsley is just a short drive away with two Italian restaurants, a curry house, two hotels and two pubs. The quiet country roads are ideal for cyclists wishing to explore the hidden villages of the area, while the National Park to the north offers unique, spectacular moorland scenery and a variety of walks and cycle paths. With nearby Pickering and its steam trains to the north, Castle Howard less than 15 miles away and Scarborough and the East Coast only 35 miles away, Ampleforth is in the perfect location for a varied yet relaxing holiday.

Property was super clean and well finished - honestly the best stocked property we've ever stayed in with everything you might ever need during your stay! A really lovely and helpful touch to have some fresh bread, butter, milk, biscuits and even a new jar of marmalade left for us on arrival. Setting is beautiful, backing onto fields with a lovely walk into the countryside literally outside the door and a great park barely a minute away if you are staying with kids. House is lovely and quiet, warm and quickly felt like home even just for a few days. Convenient for us visiting Pickering and York during our stay. We will without doubt be staying again in the future if we're in the area.
