Alken Cabin in Bushmills is highly praised for its cleanliness, peaceful setting, and proximity to local attractions. Guests appreciate the well-maintained property, cosy atmosphere, and beautiful views. The garden is a hit with children, and the cabin's location makes it an ideal base for exploring the Causeway Coast. While some minor issues are noted, such as the lack of a microwave and the comfort of the sofa and mattresses, the overall experience is very positive, with many guests planning to return.
The cabin consistently receives high marks for cleanliness, with multiple reviews mentioning it being 'spotless' and 'well maintained'. The attention to detail in this regard contributes significantly to the positive guest experience.
The location is frequently highlighted as a major plus, being described as peaceful, quiet, and central to various attractions like the Causeway and beaches. Its proximity to Bushmills and other towns adds to its appeal.
Comfort receives good feedback overall, with mentions of cosy beds and a spacious shower. However, some guests noted issues with the mattresses and sofa comfort, slightly lowering the score.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and adequate amenities. However, the absence of a microwave and washing machine, and comments about the need for larger pans and a full dinner set, suggest room for improvement.
While the reviews reflect a positive experience with thoughtful touches like books and games, there is no mention of gifts. Therefore, it is not possible to score this category accurately.

The cottage was clean, the bed was comfortable and the views were wonderful. We were lucky enough to have excellent weather, so even in early October we had breakfast and evening meal on the decking enjoying the peace and the views. On the rare occasion that we switched the heating on, the cabin warmed up very quickly. Our only constructive feedback is that a potato masher would be useful, and a deeper fitted sheet on the bed, but besides those two very minor points, it was absolutely perfect and we highly recommend.
