Bushmills 3.3 miles. Stillwaters is a lovely, three-bedroom house nestled on the outskirts of Bushmills, County Antrim. This dog-friendly accommodation is surrounded by countryside, whilst being within easy reach of the Giant's Causeway along Northern Ireland's spectacular coast and provides an excellent base for a family of six to call home. After parking in the off-road space, step inside to find a bright, open-plan living area for relaxing after the day's adventures. Stock up the kitchen cupboards ready to rustle up homemade dinners thanks to the electric oven, gas hob, microwave, and dishwasher. Gather your loved ones at the dining table for eight, whilst the rear patio garden is a sunny spot to cook on the barbecue and dine al fresco. Back inside, curl up on the sumptuous sofas, perfectly set in front of the TV and gas fire for extra comfort on colder nights. You'll find the utility just next door with a washer and dryer to keep walking gear and sandy towels fresh, as well as a cloakroom on the ground floor. Head upstairs to freshen up in the family bathroom with a bath and shower over, before choosing between three bedrooms; a master king-size with TV and en-suite shower room, a double room, and a bunk with TV, each thoughtfully appointed with home comforts. Start your holiday by exploring Bushmills, a charming village on the River Bush home to the Bushmills Restaurant and Bar, Tartine at the Distillers Arms, and is famed for its Whiskey with tours available at the Old Bushmills Distillery. You'll also find the coast a stone's throw away with Bushfoot Golf Club with sea views, and the dog-friendly, golden sands of Runkerry Beach, but if you've come to see the wondrous Giant's Causeway, why not take scenic route on the Giants Causeway & Bushmills Heritage Railway? A wonderful day out for the whole family, marvel at the iconic landform with a contemporary visitor's centre and coastal paths to discover more of the scenic area. Stillwaters is also set on the Causeway Coastal Route, so be sure to plan an unforgettable road trip with striking vistas and lookout points to stop and admire the view. You'll discover the likes of Portrush with sandy beaches, Kiddieland Amusements, and a selection of eateries to choose from. The coast is also scattered with historic sites such as Dunluce Castle, Dunseverick Castle, and the National Trust's Carrick-a-Rede, a rope bridge over the North Atlantic. Coleraine and Ballycastle are also worth a visit for local heritage, history, and plenty of independent restaurants and cafes to choose from! Located on the main route along the top coast we had easy access to all the places on our list to visit; Giantâs Causeway, Carrick a Rede, Mussenden Temple, Dunluce Castle, Ballycastle and Raithlin Island. There were also many other places we discovered down narrow, steep, hairpinned roads that dropped to small rugged coves or harbours. This whole area was more wild, rugged and wonderful than I had expected. The house is out in the countryside in a group of similar properties. Inside, the house was beautifully cared for and decorated and had everything we needed for our stay. It was comfortable, clean and spacious. All the extra bits we often take on holiday had been provided. The patio garden at the back was a sun trap for late afternoon evening relaxing, although it was right next to the main road and did get traffic noise. We had wonderful sunsets from the back bedroom window over the distant sea. The parking is arranged just in front of the house with other properties parking in a row facing their homes along the fence line. We enjoyed a trip to Bushmills distillery and the Bushmills Inn. We also ate at Grayâs just a couple of minutes drive down the road, which we really enjoyed. We arranged an Asda delivery on our arrival and popped into the Spar and Co-op in Bushmills when passing for extras. One day we headed to Belfast to the Titanic exhibition then on to The Gobbins Cliff Walk, both of which were excellent. There are many lovely looking beaches all along the coast Benone, Downhill, White Rocks, White Park Bay as well as Ballycastle. I imagine during the summer months these would be very popular. We chose to travel from Cairnryan to Larne with a two hour crossing time, which worked very well for us. I would happily return to Stillwaters tomorrow and do it all again!
