Guests say

Mr McGregor's Cottage in Omagh offers a tranquil and cosy retreat, praised for its cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and idyllic setting. Guests appreciate the property's central location for exploring Northern Ireland, the warm welcome including homemade scones, and the pet-friendly environment. While some noted the need for updates and maintenance, the overall experience is one of relaxation and enjoyment in a beautiful countryside.

The majority of guests found the cottage to be very clean, with specific compliments on its superb condition upon arrival. A few guests mentioned a musty smell and suggested a need for deeper cleaning, but these were isolated comments amidst overall positive feedback.

The cottage's location is frequently described as central and ideal for touring Northern Ireland, with easy access to local attractions and amenities. Some guests noted the proximity to a main road, but also appreciated the quietness at night. The incorrect address issue mentioned by one guest appears to have been an isolated incident.

Guests generally found the cottage comfortable, highlighting the cosy fire and comfortable bed. However, some guests mentioned that the settee was too low and the cottage's proximity to the road was less than ideal for tranquillity. The comfort of the living space received mixed reviews.

Facilities at the cottage are well-regarded, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and good bathroom facilities. However, there are several suggestions for maintenance and updates, such as brighter lighting, updated appliances, and better hot water control. The presence of a hairdryer and freezer, not listed in the amenities, was a positive surprise for some.

While some guests were delighted by thoughtful touches like homemade scones on arrival, there is not enough consistent information across reviews to accurately assess the overall thoughtfulness of the host. Therefore, while individual experiences may vary, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Cottage is so cute and easy to find with directions provided. Very close to local village with shops etc. Spotlessly clean on our arrival and the information book provided was great. The shower controls could do with being replaced as the temperature one is hard to work and extra towels would be great for guests staying more than 2 nights. Really minor feedback on as this cottage is really special!
