This charming cottage is superbly decorated, with period furnishings and wood burning stove. It features sitting room, TV room, kitchen/dining area, double bedroom with en-suite shower, two twin bedrooms, separate bathroom and small outside patio.
A lovingly restored courtyard, originally built to house working animals in 1860, is now home to eight modern cottages. This listed building, brimming with character, forms the perfect base for your relaxing short break. Belle Isles' intention was to conserve these historic buildings so they resolved to let the quirks of the form dictate the features of the resulting cottages.
Both Sycamore and Ash cottage are decorated to a high standard with unique period furnishings and a wood burning stove. Both have their own grassy outside area with barbecue and a picnic table. Indoors you will find modern amenities with a private kitchen, spacious sitting room, modern bathroom and plenty of space to relax.
Additional Information:

The cottage had numerous problems and on our arrival did not meet the level of quality we have come to expect from booking through Rural retreats. The worst was the fridge which was rusty, seal damaged, one shelf was and oven shelf and the small freezer compartment was bent and did not freeze, RR did contact the owners who blames a group of young males guests for the damage. Things were repaired or changed. The final straw was the fire alarm which kept going off, we were told it must be things we were doing. It was only when it started going off through the early hours of the morning they did something and moved us to another property for our final night. This property appeared to be at a much higher standard and was not one available through Rural Retreats. Out of the 5 nights we had people coming in and out or having to pack up and unpack for 4 days. Not a restful break we had expected. The location was lovely but it was very off putting to have other visitors walking their dogs straight outside the property, one person would walk by looking through the windows. There was no pathway but a wall at the end of the grass. Neither the description of the property or all the photos in the Rural retreats details where correct or of our property. There was no washer dryer in the property but we were told verbally there was a shared one in another building when we complained. We had a 10 month old and a 4 year old and had looked for a property with a washing machine. We are also very disappointed that Rural Retreats have made no contact to follow up our initial request for help. It was in a beautiful area and could have been made a stunning property with upgrading.
