About this property

Jade Cottage is a quaint fisherman's cottage in the picturesque coastal town of Macduff, Aberdeenshire. Boasting stunning sea views, this pet-friendly retreat is a perfect choice for couples looking to explore the breathtaking Aberdeenshire coastline. Step inside your home away from home and be greeted by the welcoming open-plan living space, featuring a well-equipped kitchen and dining area where you'll cook your favourite meals and have your romantic dinner dates, and a sitting area with an inviting electric fire – perfect for warming up after a day of exploration. Head upstairs to the snug/study where you'll marvel at incredible views of the coast while you catch up on some work, or more appealingly, curl up with a good book. When the weather allows, make yourself a drink and take your reading outside as you bask in the sunshine. When sleep calls, unwind with a hot shower and slip under the sheets of a king-sized bed to catch some rest. Explore the nearby town of Banff, where you can immerse yourself in the local history at the Museum of Banff, visit the impressive Duff House, or take a stroll along Banff Harbour Battery for some stunning coastal views. In Whitehills, be sure to visit the bustling Whitehills Marina, quench your thirst at The Seafield Arms, and sample some delectable seafood at Rockfish. Head to Portsoy for a visit to The Salmon Bothy to learn about the area's rich heritage, explore the charming Portsoy Harbour and unwind in the tranquil surroundings of Loch Soy Park. With so much to see and do in the surrounding area, a stay at Jade Cottage promises to be a memorable and enriching experience.

MacDuff is situated on Banff Bay and overlooks its neighbouring town of Banff, just across the estuary of the River Deveron, on the Moray Coast in the north east of Scotland. Macduff enjoys stunning sea views and wonderful sunsets and the architecture reflects its maritime heritage. The north east coast of Scotland is a hidden gem, with its atmospheric fishing villages dotted along the coastline, making it a wonderful place for easy exploration. MacDuff has a busy working harbour. The town itself has a lot to offer with an excellent selection of shops and good restaurants and a visit to the MacDuff Aquarium is a must for seeing the species found in the waters of the Moray Firth. For Golfers, the Royal Tarlair course is a challenge as it is situated on precipitous cliffs and lost balls are never retrieved! Macduff is a wonderful town and an ideal holiday base.

Immaculate. Perfect for us with our wee dog.

It was beautifully and thoughtfully decorated and very comfortable and we had a lovely fortnight exploring the Moray coast. We did find the cottage a little chilly in the cooler September weather and it would have been good to be able to make the radiators warmer, although there was always hot water.
