Port na Mine is a well-regarded holiday home, praised for its stunning location, comfortable furnishings, and generous welcome basket. Guests have enjoyed the beautiful views, spaciousness, and high-quality equipment. While some have mentioned issues with cleanliness and maintenance, the overall experience is one of a peaceful and idyllic retreat.
Most guests found the house to be clean and cosy, though there were a few mentions of cleanliness not meeting expectations, including rubbish left outside and a standard of cleanliness that left something to be desired for some guests.
The location is consistently described as stunning, peaceful, and serene, with breathtaking views and a sense of tranquillity. The remote setting close to amenities and attractions has been highly appreciated by guests.
The comfort of the house is well-received, with guests mentioning great beds and bedding, spacious areas for both kids and adults, and a cosy atmosphere. The house is equipped to a high standard, contributing to the overall comfort.
Facilities are generally praised, especially the well-appointed kitchen and generous welcome basket. However, there are reports of maintenance issues such as a broken dishwasher, overgrown paths, and potholed driveway, which have impacted the score.
Guests have expressed gratitude for the thoughtful touches, such as flower arrangements and a food hamper. While these gifts are appreciated, it is noted that such extras are a bonus and not guaranteed with every stay.
In the most idyllic setting is Port na Mine, a very special holiday home with breath-taking views of Loch Etive and Glencoe beyond and its very own track from the garden down to the shoreline. Five miles from this tranquil location is Taynuilt while Oban is only 15 miles away.
