Built around an inlet on Loch Fyne, Tarbert has long been both a harbour and a key strategic point in the history of Scotland's rugged West Coast. Tarbert once required three castles to protect it, and the ruins of one of these can still be visited today. Built around the natural harbour, fishing and sailing continue to play an important part in the life of the village. There are many annual events to interest all tastes including the sailing regatta on Loch Fyne, seafood and music festivals. The 87 mile Kintyre Way stretches from Tarbert to the south of the Kintyre Peninsula, and offers walking for all levels and with ferry connections to Islay and Arran, there is simply no better location to relax and explore this rugged and picturesque part of Scotland.

Very tastefully furnished, so that you immediately feel at home. We can recommend this house 100%. Small note: A slightly larger pot would be good and at least four egg cups.

  • Jonathan

Jo and Paul very friendly and helpful.

  • Helen

Clean and comfortable with everything thought of. Welcoming and helpful hosts Paul and Jo who do a fantastic job. Beautiful location with stunning views and plenty of walking and wildlife on the doorstep. Estate grounds are beautiful that we were privileged to have access to. Will hopefully be back soon. Was sad to leave.
