Bells View in Kippford is a well-equipped, spacious property with comfortable beds and superb views. It's ideal for larger groups and family gatherings, offering a retro charm and proximity to local amenities. The house is generally appreciated for its location and the wildlife seen in the garden, though some guests noted areas needing improvement in cleanliness and maintenance.
Guests have found the property to be comfortable and well-stocked, but some noted the need for a deeper clean, mentioning cobwebs, dirty windows, and some debris in wardrobes. The top floors were generally better received in terms of cleanliness.
The location is highly praised for its beautiful views, proximity to the waterfront, pubs, and cafes, as well as local walks. The estuary views and the amount of sunshine are particularly appreciated.
The property is consistently described as comfortable, with spacious rooms and a warm atmosphere. The presence of books and jigsaws adds to the comfort, although some minor issues with a smoky living room and a broken hat stand were mentioned.
The facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-stocked kitchen and plenty of space for parking and garden activities. However, some guests noted the need for maintenance, such as light bulbs and hand towels needing replacement, and a suggestion to improve worktop space in the kitchen.
While the reviews reflect a well-stocked property with books and jigsaws, there is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Large well equipped holiday home. On the whole, it was a good. It had everything we needed and was in a pretty location. 👍🏻 A few minor points - most of the light bulbs in one bedroom were either missing or blown, hand towel(s) missing from downstairs bathroom, and it could have been cleaner (a lot of cobwebs etc particularly on window sills, windows dirty and couldn’t be opened, debris from previous guests in wardrobes, one of the pillows cases in one bedroom had dirt and spots of blood (!) on it, and the blanket on the other ground floor bed was covered in dog hair). It just needs a bit of TLC I think. The top two floors were generally better. The king size bedrooms with en-suite were lovely large rooms.

We had a wonderful 3 generation family holiday. The house is fabulous. clean, comfortable and very well stocked. Lots of books, jigsaws. Wildlife comes through garden eg peacocks, deer. The situation, up a small hill, wonderful views of the estuary. watching tide in and out. Pub down the track, with good outside area, food. friendly staff. Lovely tea room 500 yards + shop, walks.

We love Bells View and hope to return again next year. Kippford is a great village, with a couple of nice pubs, great local walks and what seem like more sun than the rest of the country. The house itself is perfect for a group, with everything you need for eating, drinking and entertaining.
