Very centrally placed - near to numerous shops, eateries etc. Cleanly presented, an adequate kitchen, a typical one up / one down cottage. Plenty of safe street parking around. Whilst a combi system the boiler was constantly firing even if water was not being drawn - an annoyance at night as it's situated in the bedroom. The hive system proved inflexible as well. No wi-fi but my network - EE - had a strong signal.

It was freezing cold when we arrived as two windows were open and the heating had been switched off. Unable to contact either the owner or Sykes, but we sorted the heating. It took until the following morning to heat downstairs due to the open plan nature of the property. The floors were dirty, although the sink, toilet and shower were spotless. There were only two saucepans, only one of which had a lid that fitted. No instructions for the washing machine and the duvet was too thin. There were no extra blankets.

Photos available. Pan for omelet worn to rust so unable to cook there. Bedroom, we found and suffered from insects in the bed spent a fortune on sprays to kill them each day.Stayed away from cottage 8/10 hours a day Boiler next to bed. Bathroom had to flush loo three times on average to flush loo paper and numerous for bowel movement Cord for light previously repaired snapped on us. Junk in cupboards was ridiculous. No fire extinguisher.. Freezing cold even with fire on in a hot week. Can we really trust Sykes again cos there were more faults to mention all here We did report to Sykes over 2 weeks ago but after initial response weve heard no more from Sykes
