Guests say

Glenauld Cottage is highly praised for its beautiful, dog-friendly garden and peaceful, rural location near Kirkcudbright. Guests appreciate the comfortable setting, friendly owners, and the wildlife-rich surroundings. While some find the interior a bit dated, the charm of the area and the convenience for both pets and children are consistently noted. The cottage's proximity to nature and local amenities makes it a favoured choice for a tranquil getaway.

Most guests find the cottage clean and well-presented, though there is a single mention of dust and cobwebs. The overall impression remains positive, with the majority of reviews not raising concerns about cleanliness.

The location is frequently lauded for its tranquillity, proximity to Kirkcudbright, and the abundance of wildlife and scenic walks. Its central position for exploring the area is also appreciated, contributing to a high rating.

Guests generally find the cottage comfortable and cosy, with a few remarks about the mattresses being uncomfortable. However, the overall sentiment is that the cottage provides a comfortable stay.

The cottage is described as well-equipped, particularly the kitchen, and the large garden is a highlight. Some guests feel the interior is tired and in need of updating, which slightly affects the score.

While guests have mentioned receiving biscuits and cake, there are not enough references to consistently assess the level of thoughtfulness. It should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and not guaranteed.

We've been coming nearly 20years and can't fault it. The cottage has everything you need, it's in a central position to explore the area. The garden is perfect and secure for our dogs. Tom and Celia are always on hand if you need, they are full of information, especially if you are new to the area. Just like going home, love it.
