Guests say

Foxbrae Cottage in Rockcliffe is a well-received holiday rental, praised for its cleanliness, superb location, and comfort. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities, stunning views, and the property's proximity to local attractions and beaches. The spacious garden and secure area for pets are also highlighted as positives. While some minor maintenance issues and comfort concerns with a mattress are noted, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

The cottage is consistently described as very clean, with multiple reviews affirming its spotlessness. One isolated incident with mice is mentioned, but it does not seem to be a recurring problem.

The location is highly praised for its beautiful views, proximity to beaches, and local walks. It is considered ideal by guests for exploring the surrounding area and enjoying the natural beauty.

Comfort is generally well-regarded, with mentions of comfortable beds and sofas. However, there are a few comments about a mattress needing replacement and one guest experiencing backache, slightly lowering the score.

Facilities are deemed well-equipped and adequate for a pleasant stay. Some maintenance issues are noted, such as the need for wardrobe space and a tired appearance in places, indicating room for improvement.

While the reviews reflect a welcoming atmosphere, with fresh milk and other supplies mentioned, there is insufficient information to assess the consistency of thoughtful gestures like gifts. Therefore, a score cannot be provided.

On arrival everything seemed fine. The following morning however we discovered we were sharing the cottage with mice who made their presence quite obvious with mouse dropping over the kitchen floor and inside the kitchen cupboards. This also explained why our dog had woken us up during the night wanting to get into the kitchen. The little pests had torn through the wrapper of my unopened twix bar and had a good old nibble of it. Owner was notified and suggested putting traps and poison down which we declined as we had the dog with us. Luckily neither of us were afraid of mice .. We did leave a day early not because of the mice but we found the mattress on the bed so uncomfortable resulting in back ache it's appreciated that this could be a personal preference but it did effect our stay.
