Culbokie 2.9 miles. Emerging from the woodlands is Skylarks, settled in Ferintosh near to Culbokie in beautiful Black Isle. This skilfully renovated traditional cottage-turned wooden lodge is surrounded in beach and hillside walks, making it perfect for families or groups of adults wishing to enjoy the Highlands with their four-legged friends.
Climbing the wooden steps to the eye-catching blue door, you will be met with the wooden exterior of the originally stone cottage, adding an alpine feel to the wooden building, with the rear wall remaining stone. You will also note the red roof and spacious decking area complete with seating, where no doubt you will be drawn to spend your mornings and evenings, marvelling at the Northern Lights that can be seen from this property.
Inside, find yourself equally as impressed with the styling and exquisite renovation where the walls have been painted white and the roof is now a curved dome of wood with a chandelier, a woodburning stove draws your attention to the relaxing seating area, perfect for an evening games night, and why not head over to the fully furnished kitchen with an eye-catching touch of red tiles, creating a masterpiece for you and your family to enjoy at the dining table?
Three bedrooms offer to encompass you in contemporary style with a simple and yet homely layout and the continuation of the wooden floor throughout the house, starting with a twin room offering storage for guests' belongings, and a second room with a single bed that can be pulled out to add another single bed to the room if needs be, as well as a beautiful master bedroom with wooden roof beams and a fresh and airy design, chair and storage, and with an en-suite bathroom offering all of the home comforts, and so there are no waits for freshening up before tea time, there is a second family bathroom.
Outside, it isn’t just the decking and furniture that will add opulence to your stay at Skylarks, you will be delighted to find a sauna with one way glass, the perfect way to end your day.
Wildlife, wilderness and wonder, this property certainly has a taste of each, with an abundance of birds and animals, including otters, and you will find several nature reserved nearby, for example RSPB Tollie red kites natural reserve, where the rare and red kites can be seen gliding through the beautiful surroundings and dolphins can be spotted at Chanonry Point, where there are boat trips (seasonal) to show off the stunning coast. Of course, you don’t have to travel far in order to really get to know the area, and you will have several dining options at Dingwall, for example The Mallard. You can also head over to Inverness for a day trip, offering other attractions such as Inverness Botanic gardens, trampoline park and Inverness castle as well as a Victorian market. You will find your days packed with amazing adventures with a stay at Skylarks.
The attractive market town of Dingwall is situated at the head of the Cromarty Firth and has a rich history dating back to Norse times. The town today enjoys an excellent range of services and facilities, and its pedestrianised main street boasts a generous range of speciality cafes and charming small shops. Why not follow the Dingwall Heritage Trail, a walk that will take only 1 1/2 hours but will provide a wonderful insight into the history of this area? Close to Dingwall is the Victorian spa town of Strathpeffer, which is well worth a visit, or perhaps take a short drive to Chanory Point where the Moray Firth Dolphins are quite often seen jumping close to shore. There is also the option of seeing red kites at the rspb Tollie red kites natural reserve, as well as a close proximity to Inverness that allows day trips to Inverness Castle, trampoline park, Inverness Botanic gardens and the many shops on offer.
