In view of the highest mountain in the UK, Ben Nevis, The Loft is a contemporary cottage nestled on the outskirts of Spean Bridge in the Scottish Highlands. Offering two couples an excellent base for walking and cycling adventures, The Loft is within easy reach of popular spots like Fort William, Loch Ness, and the Nevis Range, with ferries to Skye too. Come in to the front door and discover a handy washing machine on the ground floor, as well as the sleek shower room complete with a walk-in shower. Head up the timber staircase and into the first-floor open-plan living space, a relaxing space to unwind following full days of adventure, with a fully fitted kitchen to rustle up delicious meals. Gather at the dining area or relax on the soft seating whilst enjoying some TV, or head out onto the fabulous balcony to soak up the gorgeous views over to Ben Nevis as you sip a refreshing glass of wine. Finish the day by settling down in one of the two double bedrooms, offering a tranquil spot to catch your rest. Just a few miles down the road is the centre of Spean Bridge, a Highland village taking its name from the River Spean that runs through it, with a collection of local amenities to make use of during your stay, including shops, a pub/restaurant, and a café. Less than a ten-minute drive away is the Nevis Range Mountain Resort, with mountain gondola rides offering panoramic views of the range, tree-climbing courses, and of course excellent skiing and biking opportunities. Venture down to Fort William to play a round on the excellent Fort William Golf Club course in the shadow of the mountains, take a tour around the Ben Nevis Distillery, wander the ruins of Old Inverlochy Castle and sample the great selection of restaurants and pubs here too. Take walks around the waters of Loch Eil, marvel at Neptune's Staircase, a series of locks built in the 19th century, or enjoy a Fort William Sea Tour. Keen walkers can organise an epic hike to a handful of viewpoints along the mountain range, as well as explore the lower forest walks of Leanachan Forest resting on the lower slopes of Aonach Mor, whilst the main event of Ben Nevis can be walked via the Ben Nevis Tourist Path spanning 4 miles each way. Spean Bridge is village resting in the Highlands of Scotland, found not far from the popular destination of Fort William and the third largest lake in the UK, Loch Ness. The village is home to a café, a pub/restaurant, two local shops, and a train station, with the River Spean running through owing the village its name. Walkers and cyclists will flock to this area for the wide range of terrain to cover, with wildlife watching also popular around the lochs.
