Spruce Lodge is highly praised for its cosy comfort, ideal location for walks and proximity to local amenities. Guests appreciate the cleanliness, the warm welcome, and the thoughtful touches, including welcome packs. While some minor maintenance issues and suggestions for upgrades are mentioned, the overall experience is one of satisfaction and enjoyment, with many expressing a desire to return.
The majority of guests found Spruce Lodge to be spotlessly clean and tidy, contributing to a comfortable and enjoyable stay. A few isolated comments about a damp smell and a dog odour on a sofa suggest room for improvement, but these do not detract significantly from the overall high standards of cleanliness.
The location is consistently lauded for its picturesque setting in the forest, proximity to the village of Strathpeffer, and suitability for touring the North of Scotland. The abundance of nearby walks and the peaceful environment contribute to the high score for location.
Guests describe the lodge as cosy, comfortable, and warm, with comfortable seating and beds. The presence of a utility room and a decking area are appreciated for added convenience. Despite some comments about dim lighting and a desire for brighter bulbs, the overall comfort level is rated highly.
Facilities at Spruce Lodge are generally well-regarded, with a well-appointed kitchen and utility room. However, some guests mention the need for better quality cutlery, clearer instructions for appliances, and suggestions for additional amenities like a hot tub and tumble dryer. The presence of mould and a freezer issue indicate some maintenance needs.
The thoughtfulness of the host is evident in the welcome packs and treats for guests and their pets, contributing to a positive experience. However, as these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, they are a delightful bonus rather than an expectation.
