The owners of Kylesku Kabin were previously the nationally recognised and multi-award winning hoteliers at the Kylesku Hotel, so you can trust in the high-grade of this holiday cottage. They have finished this luxurious property beautifully -as expected- and it blends into the Assynt landscape with its use of wood, metal, and glass. It’s a wonderful place to stay in the far north of Scotland. Surrounded by the Assynt Hills and ubiquitous sea lochs, you’d be forgiven for thinking you were hours from civilisation, but Ullapool is only 40 minutes south and Durness 45 minutes north. Lochinver is only 20 minutes southwest. With the NC500 on your doorstep you’re connected to so many amazing places in the Highlands – Kylesku Kabin is a truly excellent base. It’s most perfect base for walkers with trailheads to the Munro Ben More Assynt as well as other celebrated hills like Quinag, Canisp and Suilven only a short drive away.
The Kylesku Kabin is also the perfect place to stay for wildlife enthusiasts, particularly those interested in birds with a huge number of species having been spotted from the property, including golden and white-tailed eagles. A real boon to The Kylesku Kabin is its proximity to the award-winning Kylesku Hotel & Restaurant and Newton Lodge. It’s a rarity to be a short walk away from amazing food and drink venues in the Highlands.
The accommodation itself is absolutely stunning and finished to a very high standard. As you enter the front door there’s a utility room on your right -perfect for dropping boots and coats after days out. Along the hallway there’s the beautiful, spacious master suite on the left. The kingsize bedroom leads to an en-suite bathroom that’s as luxurious as they come, it has a Teuco spa bath with chromotherapy features and there’s a separate large shower enclosure with overhead drench shower and wall attachment. The shower enclosure also doubles up as a steam room – ideal for winter visits! Across the hallway is the second bedroom and a bathroom. The bedroom is a good size and has two twin beds that can zip-and-link together to make a super king double. The bedroom enjoys a view of sea lochs and craggy hills. The adjacent bathroom is a spacious shower room with Duravit and Hansgrohe fittings. The pièce de resistance at the end of the hallway is the open-plan living space. It’s a spectacular room with views that rival anywhere.
The Stove takes centre stage between two awesome windows affording views across Loch Glencoul and Loch Glendhu (both sea lochs) to the surrounding Assynt hills. The living area and the dining area have high quality furnishings with Bo Concept table and chairs. And there’s a Smart TV for when you’re not gazing out at the views. The luxury kitchen is finished with a Dekton work surface. The garden is fully enclosed with deer fencing keeping out the regular red deer visitors. There’s a butler sink with hot and cold water in the garden for dogs in need of freshening up after long walks. And it’s also important to note that there’s a wooden lodge next door that shares gate access, but the garden of Kylesku Kabin is completely private and enclosed.. All on the ground floor.
