About this property

A detached, stone-built croft, situated in the village of Portessie and enjoying uninterrupted views over the Moray Firth. Spacious, well equipped and comfortable, Braehead Croft offers three bedrooms, two with en-suite facilities, a large open plan living area and lovely lawned garden, making a superb holiday home. The surrounding area is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise with truly superb beaches and a variety of outdoor pursuits on offer. There are five golf courses within 10 miles of the village and the RSPB Reserve at Spey Bay is a 'must' for birdwatchers with ospreys visiting each summer. Less than an hour's drive from whisky and castle trails and the Speyside Way Walk and well situated for exploring all of this attractive part of north east Scotland, Braehead Croft makes an excellent base for a great holiday!

The attractive old villages of Gardenstown and Pennan are also nearby, as is Cullen, which has one Scotland's largest beaches. Within easy reach of this accommodation, Cullen is a popular destination with families because of its massive beach but also because there's plenty of nature spotting to enjoy. If there's a bird watcher in the family then they'll be pleased to know that the rspb Reserve in Spey is also in the area. The Moray Firth is also a top place for spotting bottle-nosed dolphins and there are regular dolphin spotting boat excursions on offer throughout the day.

This cottage is amazing couldn't do anything to improve it we loved it certainly going back in the near future if that's OK LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT IT

The very large rear garden which is grassed is easily made secure. We have a Welsh Terrier and could let him out to run around without any concerns. There is a lovely clifftop walk to the west and 100 yards along the road to the east there is a path leading down to the beach and rock pools. The sunsets are really lovely too.

One of the best places we have ever stayed, as you can tell. There was a new suite in the living room, and everything was perfect. The weather was also very kind to us...but only saw the resident dolphins once. We have travelled large proportions of Scotland but will always enjoy returning to Portessie and this fabulous cottage with its wonderful views of the Moray Firth. Mr Smith looks after the garden and is always busy improving the cottage and the surrounding area.
