Annfield is a charming cottage in Aberlour, appreciated for its tranquil and picturesque setting, ideal for wildlife spotting and stargazing. Guests enjoy the cosy atmosphere, with a woodburning stove and comfortable beds enhancing the stay. The property's location is perfect for exploring Speyside and the Moray Coast. While some minor maintenance issues and additional kitchen utensils are suggested, the overall experience is one of relaxation and enjoyment in a beautiful, rural Scottish setting.
The majority of guests found the cottage to be clean and tidy, with only a few isolated comments regarding cleanliness issues such as dog hair and dust. These seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.
The location is highly praised for its stunning views, peacefulness, and proximity to local attractions, including the Speyside Way and whisky distilleries. It serves as an excellent base for exploring the surrounding areas.
Guests find the beds very comfortable and the cottage warm, though some have suggested that the lounge furniture could be cosier and more accommodating for multiple guests.
The cottage is well-equipped for a relaxing stay, with a woodburning stove and central heating mentioned positively. However, guests have noted a lack of certain kitchen utensils and minor maintenance needs, suggesting room for improvement.
While some guests mention a welcome note and the provision of basic kitchen supplies, there is insufficient information to determine if gifts are consistently provided or if their presence significantly impacts the guest experience. Therefore, a score cannot be accurately given.
This tasteful, stone-built cottage enjoys a tranquil woodland location, just one and a half miles from the Scottish village of Archiestown in Moray. Surrounded by wonderful countryside and offering welcoming accommodation for four, this could be the perfect stay for you and your friends or family. Accessed by a single-track road, enter Annfield into a handy utility area, where you can leave your muddy boots and clothes after a scenic countryside adventure. This leads into a stunning kitchen/diner which attractively combines the modern with the traditional, featuring rustic wooden worktops, a Belfast sink and contemporary units, concluding the layout in style. Adjacent to this, you will find the heart-warming dining room which displays a social, wooden dining table and a fabulous woodburning stove in a redbrick fireplace. A vibrantly decorated sitting room also rests on the ground floor, offering the option to watch TV or perhaps to admire the views and even spot the deer in the nearby fields. A retro-style bathroom completes this level, finished with attractive tiling and all-white fittings. The first floor of this Victorian cottage rests under the eaves, with a peaceful sitting area lying at the top of the staircase. A sumptuous bedroom rests either side of this; a double and a twin room, both of which provide access to a classy bathroom boasting a freestanding claw foot bath. In favourable weather, take some time to wander around the mature lawns surrounding the cottage, with rural views available from almost every spot. The delightful village of Archiestown is close by, offering the visitor a handy post office and a superb hotel containing a pub and restaurant. The spectacular town of Elgin lies close by, dominated by its dramatic cathedral, a choice of museums and a variety of quality amenities to make the most of. Lovers of the outdoor can head South to the Cairngorms National Park showcasing the most astounding rural vistas with a range of paths and trails to enjoy. An enticing Victorian cottage in a fine location for touring the wonders of Moray.

The cottage has everything you would generally require for a stay with scottish rustic charm. It provided us an excellent and comfortable base from which to explore speyside, the moray coast and further afield. We found the property to be clean and in good order as per the description. Like any property, admittedly, it does require some domestic repairs e.g., the upstairs bathroom wall (dark green behind the bath) needs re painting as it was peeling badly. But these are very minor things and would not put us off from visiting again. It was perfect for our family of four and dog. Thr grounds of the house are extensive and provided an excellent safe area for our children and dog. We would definitely return and book Annfield again.

We were comfortable and warm and slept very well in the extremely comfortable bed.The property affords great privacy and was quiet and peaceful. We serviced the feeder every day and were rewarded with over a dozen species of birds and Red Squirrels. The cottage is an excellent base for exploring the Moray Coast which we did from Nairn to Fraserburgh and also thenGlenshee and Balmoral area.Would return.

The house needs a proper thorough clean though before having anyone stay in it. We had issues of dog hair from the previous party that stayed, initially the owner was a bit hesitant in sending someone down but upon me sending videos and her realising how bad it was, someone was sent to clean the sofas up. I appreciated her effort to reslove it but i wasn't 100% comfortable with using the sofas. There were massive cob webs, dust on lamp shades and the curtains had massive stains. The house itself is beautiful. The view from every window is stunning, the garden and scenery everything is beautiful, I would recommend updating the house it needs a revamp. The kitchen is nice but the kettle had such bad limescale that it was dark brown from the inside. I couldn't use it.The house and items need updating sadly even the chairs had mucky stains. I couldn't enjoy my stay.
