Garden Cottage receives high praise for its beautiful, peaceful setting and characterful charm. Guests enjoy the privacy, spacious grounds, and wildlife encounters. The cottage's cleanliness and modern amenities are appreciated, though some mention minor maintenance issues. The property's capacity to comfortably accommodate groups and families is noted, despite a squeeze in the lounge and the challenge of having two bathrooms for larger parties. Overall, the cottage offers a delightful retreat with a friendly local cat and peacock adding to the experience.
The cottage is generally well-received for its cleanliness, with one review highlighting its pristine condition upon arrival. However, one mention of cobwebs and dirty dishes suggests room for improvement.
The location is celebrated for its seclusion, beautiful gardens, and wildlife sightings. The only drawback mentioned is the condition of the access tracks, which have potholes.
The cottage is found to be comfortable and full of character, with ample space for guests. Criticisms include the limited number of bathrooms for a larger group and the lounge area being a bit tight.
Facilities are modern and appreciated, but there are constructive suggestions for improvement such as more cutlery, comfier seating, and better-sized wood for the stove. The presence of a tennis court and fire pit are positive aspects.
While the reviews express gratitude for the friendly reception and mention a persistent cat, there is no specific reference to gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts, hence the score cannot be determined.

A truly beautiful cottage and perfect for our needs, everyone loved it immensely, and even non cat lovers were converted by the very persistent, but beautifully mannered cat. Solstice on Thursday evening saw us use the fire pit in the awesome garden to make a great fire to roast marshmallows and chill. (as well as the sand bucket available we had a bucket of water at hand to control / put out the fire) Extensive fun use of the tennis court and many of us found the walks around the grounds sensational, especially the very old rhododendrons! Saw deer, hares, bats, an eagle, the resident peacock / peahen and a PINE MARTEN! My wife was in heaven. The information provided by the owners in a booklet and signs in the kitchen was totally complete, with instruction manuals for everything in a kitchen drawer. To be honest since looking on Sykes cottages and downloading the app EVERYTHING went fantastically well, exactly as described. Loved it, Loved it, Loved it!

..beautiful gardens to walk in and lovely views from all windows...the friendly cat was there to greet us each day though think it very disappointied we didn't feed as told bit it's a trier lol and Pete the Peacock was there each day to show off his plumage...he did like one of the cars as he rested on the roof each day...we regularly saw deer...hares.. pheasants pass the house which was wonderful. ..the garden was a quiet retreat to Sir in in evening after our walks along the Moray coast ..only gripe were the dirt tracks to cottage had big potholes was pretty awful driving each day ...but would still return as we all loved the cottage had everything we needed
