Aberfeldy 1.1 miles. Dundarach is a charming, single-storey lodge tucked away in Aberfeldy, Perth and Kinross. With a woodburning stove, EV charging, and a private, elevated garden decking area with stunning views along the Strathtay Glen towards the Lawyers mountain range, Dundarach invites four guests to explore Scotland in all its splendour. Make sure to take advantage of the open-plan living space by sitting in front of the Smart TV and embracing the warmth of the woodburning stove to unwind after a day of exploring your surroundings. There are two bedrooms to choose from, both king size with one having the option to be twin beds, allowing you to settle in comfortably, perhaps with a book or watching TV after a warm shower. The garden area is a fantastic place to relax and watch the world go by, taking in the scenic views whilst letting your car charge up, ready for another fulfilling day of travelling around the local areas. There is also a shed where you can securely store your bike. Once you are ready to head out, a trip to the Schiehallion Bar & Restaurant is only down the road for some delicious food and drink with other amenities also close by. Aberfeldy has several things to keep you entertained, whether it's a round of golf or tennis at their respective clubs, a sightseeing walk up the spectacular Birks of Aberfeldy, or a chance to get up close and personal with some animals at the Highland Safaris. In Pitlochry, the Enchanted Forest should capture your imagination before a visit to the Festival Theatre or Blair Athol Distillery. A further distance away, Perth has The Perth Museum housing the Stone of Destiny, The Black Watch Castle & Museum on offer some history, as well as The Hermitage and The Rodney Gardens for some glorious scenery. Make Dundarach a place of special memories by booking your holiday now.
The market town of Aberfeldy stands on the River Tay amidst beautiful scenery in rural Perthshire. Famous for its association with Burns and his poem The Birks Of Aberfeldy, the bridge built for General Wade in 1733 and, more recently, The Hills of Aberfeldy by Ed Sheeran, the town is just south of Glen Lyon, known as the longest, loneliest, and loveliest glen in Scotland. There is much to attract the visitor in addition to the spectacular scenery. For example, a 10 mile riverside walk for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as numerous paths through forest and countryside. Furthermore, Aberfeldy is on the Rob Roy Way and Cycle Route 7. Whitewater rafting on the River Tay is an exhilarating way to enjoy the scenery and zip wiring, quad biking and bungee jumping are available in nearby Killiekrankie. Castle Menzies is a wonderful 16th century castle, now fully restored and open to visitors. Take a distillery tour at Dewar’s World of Whisky on the edge of town. Sample the many bars, restaurants and cafes in the town and explore the galleries and craft shops. Visit The Highland Chocolatier in the nearby village of Grandtully to enjoy world class chocolate created by a local master. The Scottish Crannog Centre offers a glimpse into Iron Age life and Loch Tay offers a multitude of watersports, while Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park are on your doorstep. Within an easy hours drive there are over 30 Munros, just waiting to be 'bagged'!
