Tulchan Lodge is highly praised for its spaciousness, stunning views, and suitability for large groups and family gatherings. The outdoor fire pit and garden are popular features, and the property's rural charm adds to the relaxing experience. The welcoming touches, such as a hamper, are appreciated by guests.
While many guests found the property clean and well-prepared, there were mentions of flies, cobwebs, and dust in some areas. The majority of reviews, however, suggest a satisfactory level of cleanliness, with specific praise for fresh and tidy bedrooms.
The location is consistently lauded for its beautiful views and tranquil setting, ideal for those seeking a countryside retreat. The proximity to local attractions and the sense of being away from city life contribute to its high rating.
Guests generally find the lodge comfortable, with ample space and cosy areas, particularly the kitchen with its Aga. However, some guests noted issues with bed comfort and heating, suggesting room for improvement.
The lodge is well-equipped for large groups, with a variety of amenities such as BBQ and ample dining space. Maintenance issues like problematic showers, a blocked shower tray, and the need for better signage were noted, indicating some areas need attention.
Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, including a welcome hamper and the caretaker's helpfulness. It's important to note that such gestures, while often present, may not be guaranteed for every stay.
