A short walk from your apartment will take you to Gun Knowe Loch with a shop. Tweedbank Station is less than half a mile from this apartment, and the last stop on the Waverly Line, now The Borders Railway. The line connects Tweedbank to the centre of historic Edinburgh; with a short train journey of less than an hour winding its way through picturesque Borders countryside, some of the most beautiful in the UK. Tweedbank is an ideal starting point for exploring nearby Galashiels, Melrose and the Borders countryside. Abbotsford House, the stunning home of Sir Walter Scott is less than a mile away, and with the Southern Upland Way and the Borders Abbeys Way providing superb walking. Cyclists will enjoy the trails at the nearby Glentress Mountain Bike Centre and book lovers can visit The Borders Book Festival which is held in nearby Melrose in the month of June. It was situated in a quite estate close to lots of local attractions and the train station. The owners are very friendly and the instructions are clear and easy to follow.

It was ideally placed for using the public bus service and I really enjoyed all the walks I did in the local area whilst also managing to finally complete the Borders Abbeys Way. What a stunningly lovely area! I was so lucky to have a dry and mostly sunny week and would happily stay at this property again.
