The property exudes charm and is considered cosy, with some guests experiencing a warm welcome inclusive of thoughtful touches like a Christmas tree and shortbread.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Cleanliness receives mixed feedback. While some guests found the cottage very clean, others noted areas that were overlooked, such as dust on floors and greasy fingerprints. The inconsistency suggests room for improvement in cleaning standards.

The location is highly praised for its centrality in Melrose, with easy access to local buses, restaurants, and hiking trails. The views of the Abbey and gardens are frequently mentioned as highlights, contributing to the property's appeal.

Comfort is generally well-regarded, with particular compliments on the comfortable bed and peaceful setting. However, some guests mentioned issues with seating and heating, indicating that while the property is cosy, there is room for improvement in comfort amenities.

Facilities are adequate, with a well-stocked kitchen and essential mod-cons. However, guests have reported maintenance issues such as problems with the dishwasher and lighting. The bathroom facilities are noted as dated, suggesting a need for updates.

While some guests mentioned receiving gifts such as shortbread, these instances are too few to accurately assess the property's overall thoughtfulness. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that such gestures are a standard practice for all stays.

    That’s all folks!

Convenient for everything in Melrose and the many attractions in the surrounding area. Trains run to Edinburgh from nearby Tweedbank. Access from the kitchen to the new staircase into Priorwood Garden would be a unique asset!

  • Glen

Perhaps a washer/dryer might be useful , particularly in poorer weather periods.
