Nearby you can fish on the River Girvan, visit Culzean Castle on the Ayrshire coast, the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum and Burns Cottage are also worth a visit. A location for cycling and walking, this area has the Galloway Forest Park which offers mountain biking.

The dishwasher and washer/dryer were a bonus. The staff we met at the leisure centre were all super friendly, we got a text to say a fish and chip van was visiting - which was a lovely surprise! The swimming pool, table tennis and pool table helped while away a very wet day. It was a comfortable and quiet place to come back to after a long day out and about. Great base to explore local area. We hope to come back.

No welcome pack to speak of and as for the roads around the property they were something akin to the moons surface bad condition is putting it lightly. It is a shame it has come to this as the site and lodge could be made really nice with a bit of thought and some money spending.Would we go back ? No.

Cottage was spotless and well equipped. The pool and games room was fantastic for our boys.
