The Wheelhouse is newly built (2023) and is a delightful
cabin on a working croft on the island of Grimsay, between North Uist and Benbecula, Outer Hebrides.

Head indoors to be met by the living space, complete with a compact yet well-equipped kitchenette, a dedicated dining area, and a sitting area, where you can relax after a day of hiking. If the sun is shining, set the outdoor furniture and relish in an alfresco affair, lighting the fire pit as the night grows darker. Its location is stunning, overlooking a tidal inlet. There are great windows to catch the light, the views and wildlife. A great deal of thought has gone in to the fittings in the cabin - everything works well. The 'welcome' touches are equally thoughtful - some basics to start the stay on the right foot include not just bread and milk but also gin and tonic. I also like the thought that has gone into providing eco-friendly soaps, cleaning materials and loo rolls.
