Guests say

Gorphwysfa is a well-loved cottage in Anglesey, praised for its stunning location, beautiful views, and proximity to the beach. Guests appreciate the spaciousness, modern kitchen, and private gardens. The unique upstairs lounge is a highlight, offering breathtaking views. While most find the property comfortable and well-equipped, a few noted cleanliness issues and suggested minor improvements.

Most guests found the cottage to be clean and well-maintained, with several specifically mentioning its spotless condition. However, there were a few reports of cleanliness issues, including mould in the bathroom, stained linen, and a general need for a refresh in some areas.

The location is highly praised for its peace, stunning views, and proximity to the beach and coastal paths. The remote setting adds to the tranquillity, although the steep access road is noted. The scenic surroundings contribute to a serene holiday experience.

Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen and cosy rooms. The presence of an upstairs snug is appreciated. Some guests suggested the addition of rugs and non-slip mats for extra cosiness and safety.

The property is well-regarded for its facilities, including a modern kitchen and tiered garden. However, some guests mentioned non-working outside lights and the inability to use the wood burner. An EV charge point is a welcome addition for some.

While guests have had positive experiences, there is insufficient information to assess the level of thoughtfulness in terms of gifts or special touches provided by the host. Therefore, this score cannot be accurately determined.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.

My 4 year old Grandson loved the house & beach & didn't want to go home! Could have sat outside in the garden or in upstairs lounge all day watching birds & butterflies in garden listening to the sun & incredible views. Thrilled to see a red squirrel in the garden. Thank you!
