The town is steeped in history, with Roman town walls and forts, mediaeval burial chambers and stone village foundations. There's plenty to see and do, with the disused quarry of Breakwater Country Park, the seals that frequent the Holyhead shore, and the world's largest breakwater, 1.8 miles long, which defends the port. The house was a real home from home and had pretty much everything you could need. It’s a great size, especially if there’s a few of you. The welcome basket on arrival was so thoughtful and very much appreciated. The house was spotless and so nicely decorated. The hot tub was a luxury we can now never go without! And the games room was a really nice added extra, especially for those rainy days. Steve was a pleasure to deal with beforehand, and lovely to chat with during our stay. Their 2 cats Tilly and Timmy also extended their welcome, and are without a doubt the friendliest cats you will ever come across. I was quite smitten, and sad to say goodbye! The views from the property are just perfect, watching the sunrise from the bedroom, and sunset from the patio. And if you are into astronomy, this is the perfect place. We spent a couple of clear nights stargazing, where even the Milky Way was visible. You are only a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest beach and 5 minute drive away from shops in either Trearddur Bay or Holyhead. We can’t wait to come back when the weather is a bit warmer, so we can enjoy more time outside. If we could suggest a couple of extra cheeky luxuries, it would be towelling robes for getting in and out of the hot tub, as it was quite nippy at the end of September. And better WiFi, for watching films on rainy evenings. Apart from that, we loved our stay and thank you for having us!
