Llys Llywenan is a spacious cottage in Anglesey, appreciated for its quiet location, ample garden, and stunning views. Guests have enjoyed the property's roominess and the secure outdoor space for pets. While some minor maintenance issues and cleanliness concerns were noted, the cottage's peaceful setting and the owner's responsiveness have been positively highlighted. The occasional mention of a welcome gift added a thoughtful touch to the experience.
Reviews indicate a mix of experiences regarding cleanliness. Some guests found the property well-kept, while others noted issues such as mustiness, dog hairs, and dead flies upon arrival. The garden's upkeep was generally praised, but the presence of dog mess from a neighbouring property was a concern for some.
The cottage's location is highly praised for its tranquillity, beautiful views, and proximity to local attractions. Guests enjoyed the peaceful rural setting and the scenic views of Holyhead harbour and nearby lake, making it a desirable retreat for those seeking a quiet holiday.
Comfort levels received mixed feedback. Many guests found the property spacious and the beds comfortable, while others mentioned the need for new mattresses and highlighted damp-related issues. The large garden and the variety of rooms were appreciated for providing comfort and space for relaxation.
Facilities were generally found to be good, with a well-equipped kitchen and ample living space. However, several reviews mentioned maintenance issues such as dampness, leaky roofs, and electrical problems. The Wi-Fi connection and TV signal were also points of contention for some guests.
While some guests mentioned receiving a welcome gift, such as a bottle of wine, there were not enough references to consistently evaluate the thoughtfulness of the host. Therefore, it is politely noted that while gifts may be provided, they are not guaranteed for every stay.
A superb, detached cottage in a rural location with views across to Llyn Llywenan from the front and open countryside to the rear. The cottage is located between Bodedern and Llanddeusant in the heart of peaceful farmland on the Isle of Anglesey. Set predominantly on the ground floor, this lovely cottage offers a welcoming hallway from which the living areas and bedrooms all branch off. Straight ahead you will enter the fitted kitchen with oak cupboard doors, breakfast table and marble-effect worktop. The main sitting room is spacious and airy, with a multi-fuel stove and further dining area, with doors off to the rear conservatory which is furnished with a large corner sofa and TV DVD player and sound bar, making a great cinema room from which to watch the latest films. A flight of stairs leads from to the hall to a first floor snug, also with TV, which the kids will want to make their own and probably set up a gaming station away from the adults. Along the ground floor landing are four bedrooms, one of which has a king-size bed, along with a single bedroom with a pull-out trundle bed. Externally, the enclosed rear garden offers ample space for children to explore and play whilst you relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the area and plan the exciting adventures for the rest of your holiday. There are some excellent walks from the doorstep and the Anglesey Coastal Path runs nearby, opening up 125 miles of superb coastline. Sandy beaches and coves are easily accessed and the delights of Rhosneigr and Trearddur Bay are within eight miles. A wonderful cottage for friends and family to get together and enjoy the delights of this area at any time of year.
Close to the stunning north west coastline of Anglesey, the small Welsh village of Llanddeusant is set amidst spectacular cliffs and golden, sandy beaches. As the location of the only remaining working windmill in Wales, visitors can enjoy seeing corn being ground the old fashioned way, followed by refreshments in the mill's excellent tea-room. This charming village is a great base for people looking to explore the island due to its central location. Fishing, bird-watching, golf, climbing and water-sport opportunities are all within easy driving distance of this diverse little settlement, whilst those interested in seeing Ireland can enjoy a brief ferry ride to Dublin. Anglesey Sea Zoo, the historic town of Beaumaris and the Menai Strait are all close by and offer visitors with a wide range of activities unique to this glorious area.

We complained to Sykes from the beginning as this was supposed to be a last holiday for a terminal ill family member. I cannot believe the other reviews say how clean the house is, as this was far from the case, from wrappers left on the windowsill, blue roll stuff between the gaps in the window, mould on the blinds, dirt and dust all over the house, dead flys and spiders, holes in the walls, dirty hand marks on the doors, stains on the curtains just generally very unclean, the shower was help up with cable ties the oven was dirty there wasn't a single room that didn't have a issue, The broken toilet seat mentioned in a pervious review from a year ago is still broken. Fire blanket is also old and hasn't been checked since 1990s. Very obvious that no repairs have been carried for this property for a fair few years. One of the responses we had back about the rust and the mould in the bathroom was because people had not opened the window while showering. I'm appalled that sykes cottages have this property on there books, when we contacted them regarding the state of the property they did not care at all!! Sykes are only interested in taking money from all without any care for the customers. For owners that care about about there properties and put in so much hard work and love, they would be mortified of the diabolical condition of the property. It could be a beautiful property and is in a lovely location but needs so much work on it. As a family we have been booking with Sykes for decades and have never ever complained before we have never had any issues like this before, so very disappointed how Sykes deal with there complaints. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK!!! Pictures will be available on TripAdvisor please take a look.

Well cleaned. Lovely gardens. No Light pollution. No noise pollution. Wonderful views across the sweeping valley. The owner was very polite and helpful.

There were a couple of things regarding the cleaning but overall we had a good stay and would definitely ask to hire again.
