All the family said how comfortable the beds were. All the facilities were amazing, and top quality, good quality linen and towels, sharp knives (best I have know in a rental property). Everything has been thought of to make this a special place for all ages. We all enjoyed the hot tub. There were a couple of minor things like the shower tray in the main bathroom filling up , however I manage to clean the plug out and plunged it which helped. We would definitely return.

It is a farmhouse with an extension, providing ample car parking for our three cards, and sprawling interior space. Cae Du is located in the small, picturesque village of Dwyran. The access is via a farm gravel track which, while bumpy and narrow, did not pose major problems traversing it if done so slowly. It is under 10 minutes’ drive from a large farm shop, under 20 minutes from Newborough Forest and beach, and 15 - 20 minutes to supermarkets. The quaint town of Menai Bridge is also just a 20 minute drive away. There are beautiful rural vistas in nearly all directions, with vast farmland in one direction, and a glimpse of the church in the other. The house itself has a large garden and patio. Given that the house is pet-friendly, we were surprised at how clean and odour-free it was.We were very happy with the cleanliness. Every room was cosy and comfortable. One of our party had to use the bunk bed in preference to the single bed in the same room due to the mattress being uncomfortable, but otherwise we all had a good night's sleep. One point of caution: the kitchen has bench pews rather than individual chairs, and due to their shape, we were prone to tripping when exiting or entering. They were quite comfortable once one was seated, with a backrest being an appreciated feature. Beautiful pastel colours adorned the front garden furniture and window frames. We very much liked the ‘farmhouse door’, which allowed the top half to be opened while the bottom half remained closed. Interiorly, there was a hybrid farmhouse and seaside theme, and quite a few antique pieces of furniture. It had a tranquil and warm character. Of note, the view from the master bedroom was stunning. The main window does not have blinds/curtains, but this did not pose a problem due to the autumn daylight hours. In line with Cae Du's aesthetics, the facilities were numerous and of high quality. We all made use of the darts and table tennis in the games room. The TV was large and served us well for family movie time (the internet was fast enough if we turned all our phones’ wifis off). Sofas were comfortable, though some of the edge seats had no backs; we improvised a solution. The kitchen had a Rangemaster cooker with gas hobs and an electric oven, which served our cooking needs perfectly. There were ample dishes, cutlery and glasses. The gas central heating kept us warm on the occasional cold morning. We enjoyed the hot tub a few times - a real treat in the evenings. We had uncharacteristically warm weather, so did not use the wood-burning fireplaces. The garden was spacious and allowed us a bit of a run-around. We had a couple of minor issues during our stay, which were rapidly resolved by telephoning the owner, Matt. He helpfully supplied the house handbook prior to our stay, also. The whole family thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The available space, decor and location transported us to a world of peace and quiet. We would highly recommend Cae Du!

Cae Du is a beautiful secluded spot perfect to explore beautiful Anglesey. We happily accommodated 4 adults, 4 children and our dog. Our weather was hit and miss but the facilities at Cae Du allowed the children to occupy themselves without any moaning. The owners were fantastic with a queries we had via email. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to book again.
