Three Gates is a quaint and characterful cottage in Anglesey, appreciated for its peaceful and remote location with beautiful views and proximity to nature. Guests have enjoyed the rustic charm, the cosy atmosphere with a log burner, and the nearby scenic walks. While some guests mentioned the cottage's potential and the attentive host, there are comments about the need for a deep clean and updates to some furnishings for enhanced comfort.
The cleanliness of the cottage has been a recurring concern among guests, with several mentioning the presence of cobwebs, dust, and a general need for a more thorough cleaning. The feedback suggests that while the property has charm, its cleanliness does not consistently meet guests' expectations.
The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, stunning views, and proximity to nature, including beaches and coastal paths. Guests have found it to be a perfect setting for a peaceful retreat, although some noted the challenging access track.
Comfort has received mixed reviews. While some guests found the cottage cosy and well-equipped, others reported issues with uncomfortable beds, seating, and a lack of space for personal belongings. The rustic charm adds to the comfort for some, but improvements are suggested.
Facilities and maintenance have been noted as areas for improvement. Guests have mentioned the need for updates to the shower, kitchen amenities, and general maintenance. However, the provision of a log burner, good heating, and internet connection were positively received.
While some guests mentioned receiving fresh flowers upon arrival, there is insufficient information to determine the consistency of such thoughtful gestures. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that such gifts will be provided for future stays.
This lovely little holiday cottage, in a peaceful location on the south eastern corner of Anglesey, offers simple comforts in a most delightful way. A combination of slate flags, quarry tiles, wood flooring, reclaimed doors, artwork, vintage accessories and quirky details such as the hand made swallows in flight on the vaulted ceiling, makes Three Gates a beautiful place to stay.
The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, larder fridge and freezer, washing machine, microwave and toaster. There is a dining table and four dining chairs.
The sitting room has a comfortable sofa and chairs, woodburning stove set in an inglenook and a flat screen TV.
There is a downstairs shower, loo and wash hand basin.
Stairs from the kitchen diner lead up to the bedroom which is furnished with antique small double bed and a single, perfect for a couple or small family.
There is a small reading area with chair and lamp on the gallery / balcony overlooking the kitchen diner.
The large garden has a variety of seating options and there is space for parking.
There is a footpath leading down to the beach which is about a twenty minute walk. You are also only a ten minute drive away from the popular seaside town of Beaumaris which has a good variety of pubs, cafes, restaurants, shops and attractions.
If there are more than two in your party then you can also book Ty Felin next door, which sleeps 5.
Please note, as the name implies, you reach the cottage along a farm track that has three farm gates which you will have to open and close every time. It is worth it though!
The village of Llangoed is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the beautiful east corner of the Isle of Anglesey, offering a shop and Post Office. Nearby is the fascinating and attractive town of Beaumaris, boasting a 13th century castle, Georgian and early Victorian houses and shops, a number of excellent tea rooms, restaurants and stylish shops, and a delicatessen. Visit the town’s old courthouse and Victorian gaol, or the pier where you can fish for crabs or catch a boat to see the birds on Puffin Island. The location is lovely. Very calming and peaceful. Had a small problem with the hot water but this was quickly sorted out. Would highly recommend this cottage and would definitely stay again.

, there was no hot water for pots etc.,a man had been on Wednesday to sort it but it was still not working. The house is hard to find, a sign on the first gate would help, the walk from the cottage to the beach was inaccesible without trespassing on a private drive.
Mandy
Lovely local walks. So very very peaceful away from it all. Hopefully will be back. Very happy.
