Continue onto Holyhead, where you can delve into history at the Holyhead Maritime Museum, join the renowned Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path which offers some of the best sights and scenery or wander along the breakwater where you will reach the historic lighthouse built in 1873. The South Stack Lighthouse rspb Reserve is well-known for its birdwatching, and there are plenty of rock pools and cliff-top walks to explore. For those looking for a more extensive range of amenities, Holyhead is a short drive away and offers an excellent leisure centre, a marina and the second-longest breakwater in the world, as well as exciting day trips to Dublin via ferry. Visitors to Holyhead's Maritime Museum and Holyhead Breakwater Country Park will appreciate the museum's excellent cafe. Newborough, with its excellent woodlands and beach, and Beaumaris, a town and castle, are both further out.
