A charming seaside town with a seven-mile sand beach that has been the site of numerous car races and efforts to break speed records.
Since its tragic death in a speed record attempt, "Babs" has been unearthed and restored to its former glory, and is now displayed in the local museum for all to see. One of Amy Johnson's many records flights took off on these perfectly flat dunes. These dunes are ideal for sunbathing, swimming, and kite-flying all year round, thanks to their rich history. Pendine is the ideal coastal town, with a cafe, a grocery store, and a variety of stores selling souvenirs and food. Land of Speeds MUseum, which is located on Pendine Promenade, is also a Pendine landmark; the land speed record was originally set on Pendine beach! The nearby sights include Dylan Thomas' famed boathouse, where he produced many of his literary masterpieces, castles, sandy beaches, secret coves, and the busy coastal city of Tenby, with Caldey Island and the grand abbey a short boat ride away. This is a wonderful place to begin your exploration of Wales' most picturesque region.

!) Property comfortable and adequate for holiday needs. A hanging facility for clothes in the one bedroom would have helped a lot.

Weather wasnât great this summer so we were very thankful to be in the spacious cottage. Only thing would say is that a guest book would be good to see where people who have visited recommended. And more utensils for a family of 5.

). Although we found it a little difficult to find it was worth it. Attached to the owners house which used to be the Old Rectory for the church across the road the accommodation is extremely spacious. Here is an enclosed field and garden for the dog. Pendines stretch of unspoilt beach is five minutes by car (roads are narrow & winding and not really built for pedestrians). Saundersfoot and Tenby 25 mins away. St David's is also worth a visit....so ideally situated. Clean and comfortable and private even from the owners! Could not recommend it enough!
