Guests say

Aberdauddwr Cottage in Lampeter is highly praised for its stunning views, peaceful environment, and attentive host, Malcolm. Guests consistently mention the property's cleanliness, comfort, and the added luxury of a hot tub. The location is ideal for exploring the Welsh coast and enjoying nature. While some minor issues are noted, the overall experience is one of relaxation and enjoyment, with many guests planning to return.

The majority of guests found the cottage to be very clean and well-kept, contributing to a comfortable stay. However, one review mentioned that the cleaning was not thorough with soap left from previous guests, slightly impacting the score.

The location is frequently described as beautiful and secluded, perfect for a peaceful retreat while still being close enough to Lampeter for convenience. The proximity to beaches and nature activities is highly appreciated.

Guests report the cottage as comfortable, with plenty of space and cosy bedrooms. The presence of a hot tub adds to the comfort level. One review mentioned deceptive photos regarding size, but this seems an isolated view.

Facilities are generally regarded as excellent, with a well-equipped kitchen and outdoor amenities like a BBQ and hot tub. Some guests noted the kitchen as dated and one mentioned a need for better maintenance, slightly lowering the score.

The host's thoughtfulness is frequently highlighted, with mentions of welcoming gestures such as milk and cakes on arrival. While these gifts are warmly received, they are a personal touch from the host and may vary with each stay.

About this property

Lampeter 2 miles. Set on a hillside, in the village of Pentrebach near Lampeter, this former farmhouse enjoys far-reaching south-facing countryside views. Once off the main road and on a 'no through' road, you will pass two houses on your way up to the property and then only come across the local farm traffic thereafter. With a hot tub on the patio, a welcoming woodburner and oil Rayburn, you can all enjoy family time in the warmth and comfort of this rural retreat. The well-equipped kitchen/diner allows everyone the opportunity to join in preparing meals and then settle round the table to share them together before setting up a traditional family board game. The comfortable sitting room is the place to put your feet up, relax and reminisce great days out and plan the next day’s outing. Five bedrooms offer a range of sleeping accommodation to suit all, with one on the ground floor, one with an en-suite and one a cot room, especially for the little one, so all can enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep. A stay here offers the chance to explore the charming surrounding countryside, watch the farming seasons from many of the rooms or the lovely garden, be amazed with the local wildlife, both overhead and on the ground, and maybe even try some fishing on the River Teifi nearby. Alternatively, relax in the bubbling waters of the hot tub as you reflect on a wonderful Welsh holiday. Just a short drive will open up a variety of days out, with a visit to Lampeter providing the chance to explore the unique little shops and the bustle of local markets, enjoy afternoon tea or an evening’s restaurant meal. If it is the superb coastline of west Wales beckoning, then you’ll find family fun beside the seaside in just half an hour’s drive, where you can stroll along the beaches, see the stunning seascapes of the Ceredigion Coastal Path, board boat trips to watch whales and dolphins or take to the water to test the surf. Travelling inland will take you to the wild Cambrian Mountains and Elan Valley, with numerous country walks available. The village of Tegaron is only 20 minutes' away. From this delightful cottage, your getaway can be as relaxing, peaceful or as active as you wish; a wonderful holiday home for your holiday in this stunning corner of South West Wales.

Lampeter is the smallest and oldest university town in Wales, and boasts a fine selection of small, locally-owned shops. It also boasts a museum, a Welsh quilt museum and has a wealth of unique tea rooms, pubs and restaurants, regular markets and a fine food festival. Surrounded by beautiful rolling hills and rivers, the area is ideal for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers. From ancient castles to theme parks, Lampeter is a great base to enjoy a holiday all year round.

The cottage was clean and well equipped and the views over the valley were amazing. We spent time in the hot tub with the sun setting over the valley and red kites circling over head. If you are searching for peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings this is a really good choice. The owners were helpful, very friendly but unobtrusive.

Several things to see and do within an hour drive. The owner Malcolm was great, really accommodating and sent us a list of recommendations for days out on the first day. Would definitely look to go back. Thank you
