About this property

Set in the rolling Bodnant Estate with magnificent views of the River Conwy and the Snowdonia mountains beyond, Minafon is a secluded barn conversion, the perfect spot for a romantic break.

Minafon is one of 10 luxury self-catering cottages on The Bodnant Estate, a strikingly beautiful agricultural estate in North Wales. Set in hilly and wooded countryside in the lower reaches of the Conwy Valley, it commands spectacular views across to Snowdonia. Stone cottages and farm buildings have been restored using traditional materials and techniques, and the Estate supports farming and encourages other rural activities. Various houses and cottages in scenic positions on the Estate are available for rent as holiday lets. Come and stay in one of them - and enjoy walking on the many miles of private woodland paths winding through the Estate.

The cottage is a beautifully simple property, restored to a high standard yet decorated in the traditional style, with exposed stone walls and wooden beams and plain white tiles in the kitchen that are the perfect foil for the sweeping views from the window. The cottage occupies an elevated position on the edge of the estate, along its own woodland track, just off the A470, so you’ll probably find yourself gazing out onto the River Conwy or the mountains of Snowdonia beyond.

The property may be simple, but there are little touches of luxury, like underfloor heating throughout, and a wood burning stove to cosy up to in the evenings. All logs for the wood burner are included in your stay. Whether you’re hankering after some relaxing seclusion or you’d like to get out and about in the beautiful countryside, Minafon is your ideal base.

There are a number of other properties available to book at the Bodnant Estate; Ty Newydd, sleeping eight guests, Ty Cerrig, sleeping seven guests, Lletty, sleeping six guests, Lletty and Annexe, sleeping eight guests, Garth Iwrch, sleeping four guests, Bryn Derw, sleeping 4 guests, Bryn Rhydd, sleeping four guests, Tydden Derwen, sleeping five guests, Ty Ucha’r Ffordd, sleeping two guests and Bryn Mawr, sleeping 7 guests.

Beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Colwyn Bay very easy to get to and fantastic walks straight from the cottage as well. Worth visiting the local food places on the estate and some good local pubs/eateries. The weather was stunning which added to the wonderful break. Sitting outside with a glass or two of wine over looking the stunning views was heavenly.
