Guests say

Guests consistently praise the Sea Chest cottage for its cosy charm, cleanliness, and prime location in the heart of Conwy. The property is well-furnished and equipped, offering a comfortable stay for families and groups. The thoughtful touches by the owner, including a welcome pack, are highly appreciated, although such gestures are not always guaranteed.

Reviewers frequently mention the cottage's cleanliness, describing it as 'very clean' and 'cosy and very clean', indicating high standards of hygiene and upkeep.

The location is repeatedly highlighted as excellent, with its proximity to local amenities, historic sites, and the quayside, making it an ideal base for exploring Conwy and the surrounding areas.

Comfort is a strong point for the Sea Chest, with guests finding the beds comfortable and the living spaces cosy. The property accommodates various group sizes, adding to its comfort score.

The cottage is well-equipped for self-catering, with good wifi and TV. However, there is a mention of the parking being confusing and the backyard needing some attention, slightly lowering the score.

Guests are delighted by the generous welcome pack and the owner's attention to detail. While these extras are greatly appreciated, it's important to note that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

About this property

Situated within the walls at Conwy at the centre crossroads, is this period property, Sea Chest. Just a moment's walk from a range of amenities, Sea Chest enjoys an excellent position in the town, welcoming family and friends looking to access this region of North Wales. Step through into the lounge, where a woodburning stove sits in a feature fireplace, complemented with seating and a TV with Sky for your entertainment. Dust off those cooking books in the kitchen, housing an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher, whilst the adjacent utility comes in handy with a washing machine. Serve the fruits of your labour in the dining room, toasting to a long-awaited getaway, before taking the evening to the courtyard where you can enjoy a glass of fizz under the stars. The bedrooms are situated upstairs and include the master with king-size bed and en-suite shower room, along with a further king-size, double and bunk, each with storage space. This property comes with a sought-after allocated parking space, but with everything nearby, you won’t need the car all week! Given its World Heritage Site status, Conwy is a true medieval gem, home to a striking castle and an abundance of ancient festivals and fairs, musical recitals and galleries. There’s a wealth of specialist shops where you can pick up a gift for back home, while there’s also areas of natural beauty including the River Conwy, where the idyllic Conwy Marina, along with the delights of Conwy Caernarvonshire Golf Club and Conwy Beach await. If adventure takes you further afield, Colwyn Bay, Rhos-on-Sea and Caernarfon are all within easy reach and offer plenty more to experience. However you choose to spend your holiday time, return to Sea Chest for an evening of relaxation.

Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is unquestionably well-known around the world for its historical and architectural legacy, yet the centre of the town is a hive of busy activity. There are numerous specialised stores, eateries, and motels in addition to its traditional festivals and fairs, musical performances, galleries, and tourist attractions. Conwy Castle, which was constructed for King Edward I between 1283 and 1287, is still regarded as one of the finest examples of mediaeval military construction. The castle's unusual, elongated shape—complete with two barbicans, eight enormous towers, and a large bow-shaped hall—was likely influenced by the castle's location on a small rocky outcrop. The Gwledd Conwy Feast, the Honey Fair, the Seed Fair, and other yearly festivals, events, and fairs, as well as other musical occasions throughout the year, are just a few of the town's many annual celebrations of its historical traditions, which it is pleased to uphold. Conwy is the ideal starting point for exploring the stunning Snowdonia National Park, strolling along undeveloped sandy beaches, or taking in the breathtaking nature right outside your door. The Llechwedd Slate Caverns, which have the longest zip line in Europe, are also close by, while Surf Snowdonia is only six miles distant.

! Perfect for our family. Grandmother, son, his wife and 8 year old son. Lovely little outdoor table in the rear for suppers. Two bathrooms and four bedrooms was perfect .The location was perfect for northern Wales castle visits and only a few blocks to Conwy castle itself! Evening stroll along quayside only a block away. High Street full of shops and places to eat. We walked all around the quaint town. We day-tripped to Snowdonia, Manchester and Wrexham.

It is so convenient for shops and restaurants and has retained a lot of its historic charm. The kitchen is well-stocked and the lounge is fabulous - very comfy settees. The main difficulty is with the parking - there was some confusion involving the owner of the kebab shop and our next door neighbour. Also, I thought that the back yard needed some TLC. I spent quite a while sweeping it to make it a bit nicer.

Very much appreciated the generous welcome pack with cakes and Prosecco as well as all the essentials. Ideal location for exploring all that Conwy offers. Would definitely recommend Sea Chest.
