Ty Potiwr is a well-received cottage in Conwy, praised for its prime location, cleanliness, and homely atmosphere. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like Welsh cakes and milk on arrival, and find the property to be a comfortable base for exploring North Wales. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many guests looking forward to returning.
The cottage is consistently described as clean and tidy, with several reviews highlighting its spotless condition. There is a single mention of cobwebs in an external utility area, but this does not detract significantly from the overall high standards of cleanliness.
The location is frequently praised for being quiet yet central, next to the castle walls, and within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, and attractions. The convenience of the location is a standout feature in the reviews.
Guests find the cottage comfortable, with cosy sofas and well-equipped rooms. There is a mention of a soft mattress and an ill-fitting stair gate, which suggests room for improvement in comfort for some guests.
The cottage is generally well-equipped, but some reviews note the need for maintenance and updates, such as replacing kitchen items and fixing the fridge. The presence of a highchair and stair gate is appreciated, although the latter was reported as not fitting properly.
Guests are touched by the welcoming gestures of milk and Welsh cakes upon arrival. While these gifts are warmly received, it is important to note that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is without doubt world famous for its historical and architectural heritage, yet at the heart of the town lies a hub of bustling activity. Alongside its ancient festivals and fairs, musical recitals, galleries and historical attractions, there is an array of specialist shops, restaurants and hotels. Built for King Edward I between 1283 and 1287, Master James of St George's design, Conwy Castle remains one of the most outstanding achievements of medieval military architecture. The distinctive, elongated shape, with its two barbicans, eight massive towers and a great bow-shaped hall was perhaps determined by the narrow rocky outcrop on which the castle stands. The town is proud of its historic traditions and celebrates its past by retaining many of these in its annual festivals, events and fairs, including the Honey fair, Seed fair and Gwledd Conwy Feast in October, along with other musical events throughout the year. Conwy is the perfect base for exploring the dramatic Snowdonia National Park, walking unspoilt sandy beaches, or taking in the wonderful scenery on your doorstep. Also within reach are the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, which has the longest zip wire in Europe, and Surf Snowdonia is just six miles away.

It was good then and is good now. The cottage has good facilities (internet ,dishwasher, washing machine, freezer) and is very conveniently located with Conwy high st about a minutes walk away and the harbour about 5 minutes walk away.

Great facilities. The hosts were brilliant. I had problems with the oven. Rang the owners and the husband came around very quickly. There was nothing wrong with the oven, just my stupidity unable to put it on. We had a lovely chat. The next day Sian came around with some gifts for our 10 year old granddaughter Molly. Molly was thrilled. What a wonderful gesture.. Parking was difficult at times. My wife and I are both 76 years old and my wife had difficulty coming back from town because of the steep hills. We have a very happy time and loved getting back to the house. Molly loved it there,
