About this property

Tucked away amongst a plethora of flourishing wildlife, engulfed by the astounding Dee Valley, is this wonderful country-style cottage in the Denbighshire village of Glyndyfrdwy. This semi-detached property is the perfect getaway for families and friends, seeking comfort in natural surroundings and a tranquil spot to gather your thoughts and unwind into a relaxing country holiday. Boasting an elevated position, overlooking the breath-taking scenes of the Welsh valley, this spacious accommodation offers rooms with stunning vistas and a cosy, traditional feel throughout. The charming snug room rests with a comfortable position, keeping in tone with the characterful qualities of the cottage; it showcases an exposed chimney breast with inset woodburner and a traditional slate floor. Here you can enjoy a soothing spot to write a postcard home to your loved ones. Equally the lounge/diner offers a wonderful position where you can admire vistas out across the hillside and read a book quietly within a calm setting. The kitchen is a home-from-home, well-equipped with ample utensils and a lovely breakfast area in one corner. Just off from here is a utility with a washing machine, tumble dryer, as well as a cloakroom for your convenience. Upstairs, a delightful bathroom serves the bedrooms in a bright and airy fashion. Both the back and front porch have space to hang your coats and kick off your boots after a venturesome walk exploring the local region. The garden boasts a riverside setting with an abundance of pretty plants, shrubs and a lovely water feature. The kids can happily enjoy a game of hide-and-seek, whilst you benefit a relaxing seat on the patio with a chilled glass of wine on a balmy afternoon. Enjoy the pleasantries of Glyndyfrwy, nestled near the foothills of the Berwyn Mountains, offering a local pub. Nearby the picturesque town of Llangollen boasts shop, cafes and walking aplenty, along with watersports and charming steam train. Llangollen railway station is a local, preserved railway station on the former Ruabon to Barmouth Line and is on the eastern terminus of the historic Llangollen Railway. This traditional-style holiday let will have you wanting to return.

Glyndyfrdwy is situated in the Dee Valley, just 4.4 miles from the town of Llangollen. Situated close to the foothills of the Berwyn Mountains, the village is renowned as the home of Owain Glyndwr where, in 1400, he proclaimed himself Prince of Wales. Today you can still see Owain's Mount - the eroded remains of a 12th century castle motte. Walking is available with the Offa's Dyke Pathway nearby, whilst canoeing on the River Dee is on offer for those who enjoy watersports. The nearby town of Llangollen offers a range of shops, pubs and eateries and is internationally famous for its annual Musical Eisteddfod.
