Glyndyfrdwy is situated in the Dee Valley, just 4.4 miles from the town of Llangollen. Situated close to the foothills of the Berwyn Mountains, the village is renowned as the home of Owain Glyndwr where, in 1400, he proclaimed himself Prince of Wales. Today you can still see Owain's Mount - the eroded remains of a 12th century castle motte. Walking is available with the Offa's Dyke Pathway nearby, whilst canoeing on the River Dee is on offer for those who enjoy watersports.
