Guests say

Riverdale is a well-regarded cottage with guests praising its cleanliness, cosy comfort, and prime location opposite Rhuddlan Castle. The property is celebrated for its suitability for dogs and proximity to local amenities. While some guests suggest minor improvements in decor and seating comfort, the overall sentiment is positive, with many looking forward to returning.

The majority of guests have found the cottage to be clean and well-maintained, with only a few minor suggestions for improvement, indicating a high standard of cleanliness.

The location is highly praised for its stunning views, convenience to shops, pubs, and takeaways, as well as being a great base for exploring North Wales. The presence of local teenagers and the atmosphere they create was a concern for one guest, but this seems to be an isolated comment.

Guests generally find the cottage comfortable and cosy, with some suggesting that the outdoor seating and living room sofas could be more comfortable. The beds, however, are frequently mentioned as being exceptionally comfy.

The cottage is well-equipped with kitchen utensils and basic supplies, though some guests feel that the decor is tired and the property could benefit from updates such as better outdoor lighting and towel rails in the bathroom.

While guests appreciate the welcome pack and find it a nice touch, there are not enough references to gifts or additional thoughtful gestures to accurately score this category. It should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed.

The Snowdonia National Park and its delights are also reachable by car, recommended to explore whilst visiting North Wales. Enjoy your escape at Riverdale.

This historic settlement, which goes back to the eighth century and is located in the stunning Vale of Clwyd, is well-known for the spectacular Edward I.-built moated castle ruins that still stand today. The community has excellent bars, numerous golf courses nearby, and salmon and trout fishing on some of the river. This region is well-known for its beautiful treks along the Offa's Dyke trail or the Clwydian Hill range. The National Art Gallery of Wales, as well as Bodelwyddan Castle, which hosts frequent country fairs and vintage car displays, are all nearby. Visit the adjacent North Wales beaches, stroll down the famed promenade in Victorian Llandudno, or explore Conwy Castle, Bodnant Gardens, or the charming Betws-y-Coed, the entrance to Snowdonia.

Cottage faces Rhuddlan castle and area was so peaceful! The cottage itself was perfect for us and our 2 dogs, enclosed back yard with astro turf so no muddy paw prints being dragged through! Beds where super comfy and the house was spotless I will definitely return!

There were a couple of very minor points which we have left a note about for the owner, nothing to spoil anyone’s stay. We didn’t find the settees particularly comfortable but that is probably personal choice. The driveway is quite tight to get into for a larger car due to the angle of the gateway and other parked cars. The castle backdrop is lovely but the carpark is locked so you can’t park in there!

Fab location opposite the castle. Off street parking was a bonus. Lovely little garden to the front and rear of the property. Comfiest bed and bedding ever! Perfect for our visit. Thanks for having us!
