About this property

Tucked away amidst the rolling Welsh fields on the outskirts of the quaint village of Clawdd-Newydd in Denbighshire is Coach House. This fantastic barn conversion benefits from a welcoming, reverse-level interior completed by two well-appointed bedrooms, a wonderful location with access to the surrounding 6 acres of land, woodland walks and to the breath-taking Eryri National Park (Snowdonia); the perfect setting for friends, families or couples looking to explore the wonders of Wales. Utilise the off-road gated parking before stepping through into your new home-from-home, head up to the first floor to find the open-plan living space where you can rustle up tasty meals in the fully-equipped kitchen. After dinner, settle down on either plush sofa in front of the Smart TV for a well-earned, relaxed evening with your loved ones. Later, head back downstairs to wash off the day’s adventures in the shower room before retiring to the king-size or twin bedrooms, both boast zip/link facilities for flexible sleeping arrangements. If you can tear yourself away from this idyllic setting, head into the village of Clawydd-Newydd to grab all your self-catering essentials at the village shop or just enjoy a much-needed break from the kitchen with food at the Glan Llyn Inn. Embark on an adventure in Eryri National Park, which lies just a short scenic drive away, stop off in Bala where you can admire breath-taking views across the lake or even take to the water on paddle boards and kayaks; you could even indulge in a spot of wild swimming. If you would like to take up fishing, the local fishery, Llyn Derwen Fisheries, is certainly worth a visit. The national park is also bursting at the seams with an abundance of walking, hiking and cycling trails offering guests unbeatable views across the Welsh countryside and coast, it even houses Zip World Llechwedd where you can take to the skies on a zip line or tour the underground mines. All this and more awaits at Coach House.

Clawdd-newydd is a charming, small village nestled in the lush valleys of North Wales. Its location between Ruthin, a town on a hill to the north, and Corwen, often called the "crossroads of North Wales," makes it an ideal base from which to explore the region. You can get all your basic needs met at the general store, and then relax with a drink at the Glan Llyn Inn, the local watering hole. Llandegla Forest and World's End, located at the head of the Eglwyseg Valley, are two of the best places in Wales to go mountain biking, with their breathtaking scenery and exhilarating singletrack. Bicyclists will enjoy the challenge of the steep inclines in North Wales, while walkers will enjoy the incredible and seemingly endless landscape to explore. Outdoor enthusiasts will love it here, and those interested in smaller towns will find plenty to do in places like Llangollen, Ruthin, and Chirk.

Lovely gesture of a welcome food/drinks box waiting for us at the cottage when we arrived. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Loads of leaflets and books for suggested walks or exploring the local area and other parts of North Wales. Chris and Terry are such friendly hosts. They were available whenever we needed to sort a few (minor) issues. Will definitely consider booking again if we visit this area in the future.

A lovely welcome box was greatly appreciated. The cottage was cosy and comfy and you’d thought of everything to make it a happy place. Obviously the views were spectacular and we didn’t want to leave to go out anywhere as it was just such a beautiful setting. We shall deffo return and highly recommend

This was our first visit to North Wales & we weren't disappointed. The property was the ideal size for us, cosy & comfortable along with being clean & tidy. The kitchen was fully equipment with everything we needed for our stay. And the upside down feature was brilliant as we had the most wonderful views looking out onto the stunning Welsh countryside. What a perfect way to enjoy your first cuppa of the day! The welcome pack had everything we needed & just added a personal touch to our stay, so thank you & we would love to stay again.
