Ruthin 2.6 miles. Woodlands Retreat, a delightful, detached holiday home rests upon the semi-rural Lyons Woodlands Hall Caravan Park in Llanfwrog near Ruthin, Denbighshire. Surrounded by lush, countryside views, this charming abode is the perfect spot to get away from it all and enjoy a relaxing holiday with friends and family, offering eight guests a well-equipped base with a range of on-site facilities. Park up, unload your belongings and cross the threshold into Woodlands Retreat, arriving to a bright and airy atmosphere. The living/dining room is the perfect place to relax and admire views out to the garden, complete with an electric fire ideal for lighting on cooler evenings. If you feel like staying in and cooking, the kitchen/diner is well-equipped. Spend your evenings soaking up the last of the sunshine in the rear, woodland garden, enjoying views of the Welsh Mountain Range, where you can dine alfresco, light the barbecue, and enjoy a dip in the private hot tub. When it’s time to rest, retreat to one of the four bedrooms, choosing from a king-size with en-suite walk-in shower, a double, a ground-floor double, and a twin. Freshen up in the bathroom before enjoying a morning coffee in the conservatory, looking out onto the park. With access to a range of on-site facilities, including a gym, sauna, tennis courts, an enclosed dog walking park, and an indoor, heated swimming pool, you can really make the most of your stay. Get ready to explore the best of the North Wales region; from the historic Ruthin with its 13th-century castle, to the fascinating market town of Bala or the stunning cathedral and high street of shops further afield in Chester. Get your walking boots on and explore the trails of the unspoilt countryside of the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, or travel to the picturesque town of Betws-y-Coed, home to the famous Swallow Falls and Plas y Brenin, the National Mountain Centre. Visit the world-renowned town of Llangollen with its wealth of historic attractions or take a boat trip down the River Dee. The hilltop town of Ruthin lies to the north of Llangollen via the breathtaking Horseshoe Pass. The town is picturesque with attractive half-timbered buildings, mainly clustered around St Peter’s Square. There are many interesting shops and buildings, whilst the Nant Clwyd House (the oldest timber frame in Wales), Ruthin Gaol and Ruthin Craft Centre, which houses work by internationally recognised artists and craftspeople, are also worth a visit. Beautiful countryside is on Ruthin’s doorstep with Lake Brenig, Moel Famau Country Park and Clocaenog Forest close by. Further afield, but still within easy touring distance, are the coast, Snowdonia National Park and historic Chester.
