Clwyd Cottage is a charming property in a peaceful North Wales location, praised for its dog-friendly garden, comfortable beds, and the hot tub feature. Guests enjoyed local walks and the proximity to beaches and attractions. Some concerns were raised about cleanliness and maintenance, but the welcoming touches like a Christmas tree and Prosecco were appreciated.
Cleanliness received mixed reviews, with several guests finding the property to be tidy and well-kept, while others reported issues with dust, cobwebs, and unclean kitchenware. The inconsistency in cleanliness has been noted as an area for improvement.
The location is highly regarded, offering a peaceful setting close to St. Asaph, with easy access to local attractions, beaches, and Snowdonia. Guests appreciated the quiet area and the convenience for exploring North Wales.
Comfort levels were generally positive, with guests finding the beds very comfortable and the cottage cosy. However, some guests mentioned that the living room furniture was not ideal for relaxation and that the space could be tight for four adults.
Facilities like the hot tub were a highlight, though several guests encountered issues with kitchen appliances and maintenance problems. The provision of kitchenware and the functionality of the hob were common concerns, alongside minor issues with furniture and fixtures.
While some guests mentioned thoughtful touches such as a Christmas tree and Prosecco upon arrival, there is not enough consistent information across reviews to accurately assess the overall thoughtfulness of the hosts. Therefore, this score is set to null.

The cottage was lovely from the outside. The sitting areas and kitchen were of good standards. The twin room unfortunately was not very nice, the carpet was all dirty and had stains on and felt a little sticky. The twin bed near the window looked like it was leaning to one side and when sat on felt unstable. There were stains on the ceiling. The bathroom was clean, however leaked from the shower and the toilet. Overall though it was nice.

This was our second visit to the cottage and probably won't be the last the only criticism we have is the chairs and settee are dated and not very comfortable

The property at 1st looks clean and tidy but on closer inspection needs a thorough deep clean, kitchen doors mucky, shower door dirty, shower dirty, marks on ceiling of twin room that look like excrement. Cushions in lounge smelly. The outside area was really disappointing, patio was full of weeds, no cushions for metal chairs, no umbrella etc. Not a flower pot to be seen. The shed is listed for guests use, I wouldn't put a rat in there, it's filthy!! The hot tub was clean and hot but the bamboo screen that sheilds next door is rotten and dirty...well past its sell by date , also next doors outside area was full of dog poo that wafted over the wall, not the LUXURY experience I was hoping for whilst in the hot tub. In all I was extremely disappointed and would not visit again or use Sykes to book if this is what they class as luxury. This property is a 2 star at best.
