Bryn Derwen is a charming cottage in North Wales, praised for its stunning views, comfortable bedding, and high-quality fittings. Guests appreciate the peacefulness, the modern yet traditional features, and the well-equipped kitchen. The location serves as a perfect base for exploring and enjoying family time, with the added charm of local wildlife. Some guests noted the rough access track and absence of certain amenities like Wi-Fi and a freezer, but these did not detract from the overall positive experience.
The property generally receives high marks for cleanliness, with spotless bathrooms and comfortable bedding. However, one review mentioned the presence of pet hair and the need to clean saucepans before use, slightly lowering the score.
The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, scenic views, and suitability as a base for exploring the area. The challenging access track is noted, but it adds to the property's rural charm for many.
Guests find the cottage comfortable, with special mentions of the lovely beds and the cosy atmosphere created by the log burners. The lack of storage space in bedrooms is a minor concern.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and ample living space. However, the absence of Wi-Fi, a freezer, and a vacuum cleaner, along with some maintenance issues, slightly reduce the score.
While guests mention a welcome pack with items like milk, bread, and eggs, there is not enough consistent information about the provision of such gifts to accurately score this category. It should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed.

The kitchen had lots of crockery, cutlery and pots and pans and the cooker/microwave were easy to use. The double fridge was useful, but it was a surprise not to have this switched on for our arrival. Additional bedding and utensils were available, though we did not need them. Having a separate lounge and dining room was good. There was little storage space in the bedrooms, but this was not a major drawback. Overall, we really enjoyed the property. The location was great (very scenic if isolated) and the rough track up to the property was not as bad as we had feared. We would happily return to this property. A welcome pack was waiting (including eggs and bread and Welsh cakes) for us and we had no problems throughout the stay.

The log burners are great on a chilly evening. 2 Bathrooms makes life easier for a group staying. We enjoyed sharing the outdoor space with the sheep & Cows. It is off the beaten track & you do have to drive Carefully up the gravel track but well worth it in our opinion

We had only one problem which was the slate road leading up to the house. With our ordinary family van we could hardly use it and parked the car in the village, walking up the hill on the Slate Trail to the houseevery time. It would probably be good to mention this in the property description. But on the other hand it may have kept us from booking, and we would have missed our stay in this lovely place.
