Ddol Helyg Farmhouse is a well-loved property praised for its accommodating host, Barbara, and its stunning location with views of the Welsh countryside. Guests enjoyed the ample space, the on-site Piggery Pottery, and the thoughtful welcome treats. While some found the property to need a touch of updating and a more thorough clean, the overall experience was positive with many looking forward to returning.
The cleanliness of the property received mixed reviews. Some guests found it to be very clean, while others noted areas that required more attention, such as kitchen floors and cobwebs. The feedback suggests that while the property is generally maintained, there is room for improvement in this area.
The location is highly praised for its magnificent views and proximity to local attractions and amenities. It serves as an excellent base for exploring Snowdonia and North Wales, with guests appreciating the peaceful rural setting and the nearby pub.
Comfort levels are generally high, with guests enjoying the spaciousness and the en-suite bathrooms. However, some guests mentioned that the furniture and bedding could be updated, and that some rooms were too warm. Overall, the farmhouse provided a comfortable stay for most.
The farmhouse is equipped with a range of facilities that guests found adequate for their stay. However, there were comments about the need for maintenance, such as fixing broken toilet seats and updating kitchen appliances. The presence of the Piggery Pottery was a highlight for many.
Guests frequently mentioned the thoughtful touches provided by the host, such as welcome treats and flowers. These gestures contributed positively to their experience. It should be noted that while these gifts are appreciated, they are a courtesy and may not be a standard offering for all stays.
A superb, detached, stone-built farmhouse boasting exposed beams, a large conservatory and two sitting rooms, making it a wonderful base for large groups. Note: This property can be booked with ref. 2250 to accommodate up to 28 people.
Situated between Llanberis and Caernarfon lies one of the most beautiful areas of North Wales: Llanrug. Although one of the largest villages in Arfon, Llanrug is still relatively small, with only 761 houses, many of which are farm buildings and renovated cottages. There are only a few shops in the village, including a butcher, two pubs, two grocers and a chip shop. Should you require any further amenities, Bangor and Caernarfon are only a short drive away. The village has its own attractions, such as the 11th Century church of St. Mihangel and the Memorial Hall, built in the early 1900s. Llanrug's most famous neighbour, Llanberis, is only a few miles away. Llanberis has been christened âthe Gateway to Snowdonia' and offers access to Mount Snowdon and the unspoilt wilds of the Snowdonia National Park. Llanberis also has a variety of restaurants, shops and inns, serving weary walkers with local fare.

The home is beautiful and we loved it. We would definitely stay again! Apologies again for the curtain rail. If a soft toy is found with âAlbaâ written on it, please could you let me know? It is my daughters and she was sleeping with it in the bunk bed room and it hasnât turned up when I unpacked.
