Cae'r Dyni is a highly praised holiday cottage in Criccieth, celebrated for its stunning sea views, spacious and well-equipped interiors, and cleanliness. Guests consistently commend the property's comfort and the thoughtful touches provided, making it an exceptional retreat for families and groups. While some minor suggestions for improvements are noted, the overwhelming sentiment is one of satisfaction and a strong desire to return.
The property is repeatedly described as spotlessly clean, with guests expressing high satisfaction with the level of cleanliness. One review mentioned a minor issue with washing left in the washer, but this does not detract significantly from the overall excellent feedback.
The location receives outstanding reviews, with guests highlighting the proximity to the town centre, the ease of access to the beach, and the breathtaking views. The property's setting in North Wales & Snowdonia is consistently praised as ideal.
Guests find the property warm, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, with comfortable rooms and lovely views. A single review mentioned a bed being smaller and less comfortable than preferred, but overall, the property is regarded as very comfortable.
The property is well-equipped, with guests appreciating the ample facilities and maintenance. There are mentions of a well-stocked kitchen and quality furnishings. Some minor issues are noted, such as a poor WiFi signal and a leak during heavy rain, but these are exceptions in otherwise glowing reports.
While many reviews express gratitude for the thoughtful touches and mention the provision of items like binoculars and a welcome bottle of prosecco, there is not enough consistent information to accurately score this category. It should be noted that such gifts are appreciated but not guaranteed.
Cae’r Dyni is the holiday house for you if you are looking for a seaside family retreat! Nearly all of the windows have stunning views of the sea and Criccieth castle. This genuinely is a calming and peaceful home from home. Being part original and part new build, the two sections are united by an amazing slate-floored room with rocking chairs that look out to the sea through a glass wall. The staircase is beautifully crafted - in fact, hand crafted and beautiful, curated items is the common theme in Cae’r Dyni. It’s just lovely!
The cosy sitting room has the most incredible views out across the sea. Sitting here looking out of the large windows with a cuppa and watching the sunshine play on the ocean would be blissful, especially if you also spot a porpoise or two! The comfortable sofas are set around a wood burner. There are chairs which you can turn to face looking out of the windows, too. There’s a flat screen TV, DVD player and hi-fi.
The kitchen is open plan with a dining space to one end of the room, too. There’s a log burning Esse cooker, an electric cooker and gas hob as well as an American-style fridge with freezer, a microwave and a dishwasher. A TV always for some entertainment whilst rustling up something tasty - just don’t burn your supper! There is a large utility room with sink, washing machine and dryer.
The dining area has a table lovingly made my the hands of Caer Dyni's owner. There are eight leather chairs, a wood burning stove and oak floors with underfloor heating. This is a great space for family meals.
There is a delightful ground floor bedroom with squishy twin single beds.
On the ground floor there is a cloakroom with loo and wash hand basin.
On the first floor are three bedrooms, all furnished to a good standard. The master room has a solid wooden ‘stocks' bed. It also has an ensuite with a sumptuous roll-top bath, a separate corner shower and an incredible wash basin which started it’s life in Marrakesh and is now in a holiday cottage in North Wales!
The other two rooms upstairs are doubles. All bedrooms have TV’s and DVD players. One of the other double rooms has an ensuite with a loo, wash basin and shower.
The family bathroom is great! There’s a loo, wash hand basin and separate shower - the slipper bath is a real treat!
Head outside and you’ll find a gravel area with seating that boasts some of the best views from a holiday house in Criccieth! Just soak up the sea views and the sea air from here with a glass of wine come sunset. There is off-road parking next to the property.
Cae’r Dyni is not just a holiday cottage with sea views - it’s also only a short walk from the seaside town of Criccieth with a footpath leading down to the beach. Happy holiday memories will be made in this cosy and comfortable holiday house on the popular Llyn Peninsula.
Often described as the 'Pearl of Wales on the shores of Snowdonia’, this delightful seaside town is situated just 5 miles from Porthmadog. The town’s 13th century castle perches majestically on a rocky outcrop, dominating the skyline and offering superb views of Tremadog Bay and the Snowdonia mountains. Watersports enthusiasts will be delighted by the two beaches, whilst walkers and bikers are spoilt for choice by the proximity of the beautiful Snowdonia National Park. Stroll along the beaches, watch porpoises playing in the surf, or relax in the various pubs, restaurants and tea rooms, sampling the famous Cadwalader’s ice cream. Further afield, attractions such as Portmeirion’s wonderful Italianate gardens, the Ffestiniog railway in Porthmadog, Harlech Castle, Caernarfon Castle and the beautiful beaches and renowned golf courses of the Llyn Peninsula are all within an easy drive.

We were very lucky with the weather and loved just sitting and looking at the views in this beautiful part of the country. We were really pleased that everything you needed was on hand, including the housekeeper who was exceptional. We will definitely be staying again. All the bedrooms and the living rooms are clean and comfortable and a pleasure to spend time in. This cottage is definitely going to be our new place to go.

It's as beautiful house, with the most wonderful view to enjoy whatever the weather. We commented throughout the week on how lovely the décor is, how clean and cared for the house is. The perfect place for a family get together and we wouldn't hesitate to come back again. Thank you
