A must for any holiday let, but especially if the house is dog friendly. Apart from that the place was very clean and comfortable, although we did find it pretty small for the 4 of us plus labrador. The back garden was an excellent bonus for dogs, as well as getting the evening sun and beautiful views. Borth-y-Gest village was lovely, very peaceful and a good location.

Just went round in circles from one website/telephone number and couldn’t even leave a message let alone speak to anyone. The phone number you provided (saying it was the owner or owner’s representative) was just a recorded message from Menai Holidays where it wasn’t even possible to leave a message. Also the bedding was highly scented and I couldn’t use it. The smell was so bad we almost left after one day. Hopefully if I’d been able to speak to someone things wouldn’t have been so bad. Narrowed the smell down to the carpets so had to spend my time sitting in dining kitchen where there weren’t carpets. We have travelled the world over past 40 years and have never had this problem before. As the cottage accepts dogs, was wondering if a spray or ‘shake and Vac’ is used on the carpets. If this could be rectified, would like to stay at cottage again as everything else was good. But really in case of serious problems with property, the guests should be able to speak to a human, the fact that you can’t is quite worrying.
