Caban Tywod is a well-received lodge in Pwllheli, praised for its beautiful views, cleanliness, and well-stocked amenities. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds, homely feel, and the quiet, picturesque location. Some minor issues with comfort and maintenance are noted, but overall, the lodge offers a relaxing getaway with thoughtful touches.
The lodge is generally described as clean and tidy, with several reviews highlighting its immaculate condition. However, a few guests mentioned finding hairs, sweets, and chocolates left behind, suggesting room for improvement in cleaning detail.
The location is highly praised for its quietness, stunning views, and proximity to Abersoch. Guests appreciate the private setting and the scenic surroundings, although some note the lack of a safe pathway for walking into town.
Many guests find the lodge comfortable, especially the beds, but there are comments about the sofas needing an upgrade and the settee not being comfortable for six people. The heating system also received mixed reviews.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the lodge being well-equipped for self-catering holidays. However, some guests experienced issues with Wi-Fi, TV buffering, and a lack of Netflix, as well as some maintenance concerns like light bulbs needing replacement.
While the reviews reflect a high level of satisfaction with the lodge's amenities and provisions, there are no specific mentions of gifts or extra thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category.
This delightful lodge rests within the village of Abersoch, just outside of the centre and with views to the fields and luscious greenery surrounding it. Caban Towod makes a wonderful resting spot for a family of six who want to enjoy a break to the seaside and there's no better place than this coastal haven on the Llyn Peninsula. Spend time in the company of your loved ones within the open-plan living space, where a soft seating arrangement provides the perfect spot to spread out before the Smart TV in the evening after a day of fun at the beach. Prepare a delicious cooked breakfast in the morning before making up a picnic for later on, all in the stylish and smart kitchen area, and with the addition of a dishwasher you don't have to worry about the washing up on your holiday! Make a quiet evening more exciting by bringing along a board game from home to play on the dining table, a great way to create happy memories. The bedrooms lie to the back of the property, settle in to either a double room or either of the two twins to get rested for the next activity-filled day, with pretty and simple decor you'll find them to be tranquil sleeping spots. Completing the interior is the bathroom with a bath and a shower over, so you can wash off the salty sea water and feel fresh again, as well as a separate cloakroom with a WC and basin for your convenience. Begin exploring your surroundings by wandering down to the centre of Abersoch, visit Abersoch Beach for a swim in the safe waters, before sunbathing if you're lucky with the weather on the sheltered sands. Another beach is just a few miles away, Porth Neigwl or 'Hell's Mouth' as it's locally known and is popular with surfers and watersports enthusiasts alike, so you can plan a day of thrilling fun during your holiday. Also nearby is the beautiful manor house Plas yn Rhiw with stunning views across the coast and the Grade II listed art and culture centre of Plas Glyn y Weddw open for exhibitions with an amazing garden setting. Short drive to centre of Abersoch or around 15-20 min walk. Really quiet and well kept site. Cabin was spacious, well kept & clean. Would definitely recommend!

When you look across the site, you are greeted a a stunning view of fields and sea. We came here for 3 days with two other family members to celebrate a big birthday and a big anniversary. We were not disappointed in the slighted. The photos on the website are a true reflection of the lodge and facilities. It's around a 20 minute walk into Abersoch along a winding courtyard road, so be careful. We are thinking of booking again for the same weekend next year.
