The Grain Store in Pwllheli is a well-regarded cottage offering stunning views, a peaceful setting, and a convenient location close to beaches and the town centre. Guests appreciate the privacy, vintage charm, and cosy atmosphere. While some guests noted areas for improvement, the majority found the property to be clean, comfortable, and well-equipped for a relaxing stay.
Most guests found The Grain Store to be spotlessly clean and well-maintained, contributing to a comfortable stay. However, a few reviews mentioned that the property could benefit from more thorough cleaning, particularly in the kitchen area, which slightly lowers the overall cleanliness score.
The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, superb views, and proximity to Abersoch and local beaches. It's within walking distance to the village, making it an ideal spot for guests looking to explore the area. The scenic surroundings and quiet setting contribute to a high location score.
Guests generally found the cottage to be cosy and the beds comfortable, with a few noting the softness of the mattress as a personal preference rather than a fault. The property's peaceful atmosphere adds to the overall comfort, although some guests suggested minor improvements for an even more comfortable experience.
The Grain Store is equipped with necessary self-catering facilities, and guests were content with the amenities provided. However, some reviews indicated that the kitchen and certain aspects of the property could use updating and better maintenance, which affects the facilities score.
While the reviews reflect that the owners are welcoming and accommodating, there is no specific mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate a level of thoughtfulness. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

I would say it could be improved with a makeover - new grout, new furniture, lick of paint etc. It's not in bad shape but feels rather tired. Whilst it wasn't expensive for the area, I was left feeling I'd slightly overpaid for the tired state of everything.

Abersoch and all the local amenities are only a short walk away. The kitchen had everything we needed to be able to eat in when we wanted, the bed was comfortable, the shower was perfectly adequate, the view from the kitchen was gorgeous and it was so quiet.

It is approximately 15-20 minutes walk from the town which was not a problem for us. The cottage is traditional and very comfortable.
