Guests say

Highbury is a well-received cottage in Haverfordwest, praised for its comfort, cleanliness, and ideal location for exploring Pembrokeshire. Guests appreciate the warm welcome from hosts Gwenda and Rob, the well-furnished property, and the thoughtful touches, including a welcome basket. While some minor issues are noted, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many guests planning to return.

The majority of guests found the cottage to be spotlessly clean, with only one review mentioning issues with mould and cobwebs. The positive remarks far outweigh the negative, indicating high standards of cleanliness.

The cottage's central location is frequently praised for its convenience to local attractions and amenities. However, a few guests noted the proximity to a 60mph road and the need to drive to destinations, slightly affecting the score.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as comfortable, cosy, and spacious, with special mentions of comfy beds and a warm atmosphere created by the Raeburn. The high level of comfort contributes to the property's appeal.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the property being well-equipped for a pleasant stay. Some guests, however, pointed out issues with kitchen design, water pressure, and the lack of a tumble-dryer, which suggests room for improvement.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is frequently highlighted, with many guests mentioning a generous welcome pack. While these gifts are greatly appreciated, it should be noted that such extras, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

The area offers numerous outdoor activities such as wildlife watching boat trips, wildlife and fun parks, horseriding, as well as being close to fantastic walks and cycle trails. Less than 25 miles will take you to the tiny city of St Davids with its striking cathedral or head out for the day and catch a boat to the lovely island of Skomer to witness incredible wildlife including Atlantic Puffins, Manx Shearwaters or find out about the Skomer Vole. A lovely retreat surrounded by the beautiful Pembrokeshire countryside, ideal for friends and family looking to spend halcyon days on the beaches of South West Wales.

Spittal, halfway between Haverfordwest and Fishguard, just off the A40 is a quiet village, which boasts a friendly village pub, The Pump on the Green, where you can have a chat with the locals and enjoy a drink and good food of restaurant quality. There are footpath and bridleway walks directly from the village, a village green with a play area for younger ones and a football pitch to expend some excess energy and a chance to meet with the villagers.

It was very clean and comfortable. The welcome pack was amazing - thank you. The area was very quiet and peaceful which suited us. There is a lovely patio/garden area to sit in. Plenty of parking too. The owners and family were very welcoming with good suggestions about where to go for days out and where to eat.
