Guests say

Ramsey Cottage is a well-presented and clean property in a beautiful, quiet rural location, ideal for beach access and coastal walks. Guests have praised the high standard of renovation, the enclosed garden, and the overall comfort. Some concerns were raised about maintenance issues and the lack of clear instructions for arrival and internet access.

The cottage received high praise for its cleanliness, with multiple reviews mentioning it was clean and tidy upon arrival. This suggests that cleanliness is a strong point for the property.

The location is appreciated for its peacefulness and proximity to the beach and coastal paths, although some guests found it a bit too quiet. The difficulty in finding the property due to incorrect listing information has been noted.

Guests found the cottage spacious and comfortable, with a well-kept interior. However, some mentioned a lack of sufficient cookware for the maximum number of guests and issues with the internet connectivity, which affected the comfort level.

While the property has been renovated to a high standard, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as a leaking skylight and a loose toilet seat. The lack of mobile reception and the additional cost for Wi-Fi were also points of contention.

There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

About this property

A well-presented, single storey cottage resting on the outskirts of St Ishmaels, close to Milford Haven. Situated within minutes of Sandy Haven Beach, Ramsey Cottage is a wonderful escape for families and friends looking to explore this scenic region of Pembrokeshire. The open-plan living space is well-appointed for socialising; relax on the corner sofa as you catch up on your favourite TV shows or discuss with the group where to visit next, while the designated chef of the group can relish in the kitchen, fitted with a range of integrated appliances for home-cooking. Serve the fruits of your labour at the dining table, popping open a bottle of a wine in the process and toasting to a long-awaited break with your nearest and dearest. Off the kitchen is a handy utility room with freezer and washing machine so you can easily pop your clothes on a spin. Take the evening outside and relish at the patio furniture, watching over your pooch as they stretch their legs on the lawn. As you look to catch some rest, there are three well-presented bedrooms to choose from; the two doubles are neatly presented while the bunk room offers a great option for the little ones. To start the address for the cottage is incorrect on the website. The check in and check out times differ on each area of the website page also. Upon arrival, ample parking and the property is set in an undeniably beautiful location. But our first observation of Ramsay Cottage was how long the grass was in the garden. We ended up asking one of the neighbours who lived on site to mow it for us when he was doing his own lawn. To add to that we believe there is Giant Hogweed growing in the courtyard which is in fact poisonous! A matter of hours after we arrived the WiFi went down and never came back on again in the four days we were there. So we are in the middle of nowhere with no signal or WiFi... We contacted the owner on multiple occasions but it never got sorted. We gave up in the end. There was no 'welcome pack' on arrival which is a given in every other cottage we have stayed in. Only one tea towel and no cleaning products or black bags. How are we meant to leave the property as we found it if there are no cleaning materials to do so? Also, a little odd to be asked to strip the beds, but hey ho! Having read all the previous reviews, I'd hoped they might have been acted upon but sadly not. Our stay in Pembrokshire was wonderful, and Ramsey Cottage could be absolutely stunning. It is a gorgeous little cottage, very clean and well presented but improvements overall needed.

We did have problems with the WiFi in that it switched off between 9.00-10.00 each evening and not coming on again until 8.00-9.00 each morning. This was reported to the owner but did not get a response..

Maintained to a high standard. Sykes need to update website pictures as children’s play area no longer in use. 1 small towel provided/ person hand towels provided too, this was not clear on Sykes website. Lovely quiet area close to local beaches.
